Hey I'm leaning into the microphone and getting this out of the way but like I still very much love cTango and cRen but like Hermitcraft hasn't been interesting me as of late like for real so they're very, very much backseat selfships for me. I just don't think I'm clicking that much with this season outside of like Gem, Joel, and Mumbo atm. MCYT as a whole has been rather difficult for me to latch onto recently.

I'm only vaguely aware of who zhongli is so what's he like as a person? And what's the significance of the rex lapis identity?

This will be very condensed as it's been several years since I played Genshin and I'm on the way to work, BUT Zhongli works for a funeral parlor in Liyue as a consultant there. People know him as a firm man who prefers order and rules, but is also secretive/his past was unknown to most.

He is actually the Geo Archon who rules over Liyue and known as Rex Lapis or Morax! He is one of the seven Archons who can give characters their elements, his specifically being Geo. I also believe he was also responsible for producing all of the money in their world and is very rich as a result, but doesn't use it often for himself.

BUT BUT

Uhhh my sona really is more like a background NPC from Mondstadt living in Liyue for change of scenery. They would have a small job of tending to children more or less but would find themself falling in love with Zhongli.

They'd be initially unaware he was/is Rex Lapis of course but I don't think it would truly change anything. Zhongli would catch on to their crush and find it interesting to say the least.

He wouldn't outright reject them, but instead get to know them more through his own way of teasing. Making little comments that could be interpreted as flirting, touching their back or shoulders often in passing, etc.

Except...he does actually end up falling for them too. I imagine this could be like a side quest too where the player hears Genshin!Verna out and like tries to deliver a love/confession letter to Zhongli only for them to try and stop the player when the player is near Zhongli's location from shyness, yet the commotion is enough to alert Zhongli who takes the letter for himself to read. The quest would end with him reciprocating, if not a bit shy himself, and they get to go on a date.
