Giraffe's EAH Ship Tier List: Ramona/Rosabella

Hey they have a screenshot together, let's GOOOO! This one is definitely crackship/rarepair territory as we don't have a single canon interaction to go off of, but it is SUCH a fun one with SO much potential!

Obviously to start us off, Rosabella is an advocate for the rights of beasts to exist as they are. Ramona definitely falls under the category of beast and does get judged unfairly just for being part wolf. That's already fantastic! You have two people who hate the social order because it's oppressive to beasts (although coming at it from different directions) working together to tear it down! But when you look at some of their other personality traits it gets even better.

Ramona is characterized by taking nobody's crap, and giving no craps either. She's tough and direct and smart and she doesn't care what anybody else thinks, she's going to do things her way. It's what makes her cool. Rosabella is characterized by caring too much. There are so many things she wants to fix and change and she sees it as her job to get everyone else to care as much as her. When you put those two energies working towards the same goal, it gets positively fascinating. I picture Rosabella trying to do things the "right" way most of the time. Petitions, lobbying, protests, that stuff. Meanwhile, as her entire existence is already illegal, Ramona does not care about whether the things she does are against the rules or not and will just cut to the chase.

Let's use an example shall we? One of the things Rosa is canonically working on is beasts' rights to be customers at restaurants and cafes. While she personally takes the route of giving speeches to the people making the rules and gathering other people to sign petitions about it, I picture Ramona just rolling up with a bunch of beastly folks to wherever she wanted to eat and being all "just try and kick us out." She's a lot more confrontational in her approach. Rosabella could honestly react in lots of different ways. Maybe she'd be motivated to take more disruptive action when she realizes that people actually pay attention to Ramona. Maybe she'd be frustrated that Ramona is making too many potential supporters upset. Maybe she'd be happy that someone else is taking the lead for once and would sit back with a baseball bat as part of the "just try and kick us out" squad.

No matter what she does, you still get Rosabella being challenged in a way she isn't used to. She's used to people wanting to stick with the status quo and ignoring her. That's a normal kind of challenge. She is NOT used to people wanting things to change faster and louder than she was ready for. I think it might force her to reexamine some of her approaches and realize that there's a time and place to be careful and considerate and there is a time and place to step on all the toes you need. And the same actually applies to Ramona. Both of them can be effective at getting people to change their minds about stuff, but they'd have to work together to know when the right approach is needed.

Additionally, there's some cool stuff going on in that Rosabella doesn't just appreciate Ramona's "good" side that can hang out with Justine and be protective of her sister. She likes and fully supports Ramona's beastly traits. The things that make her seem scary and gruff and villainous that freaks other people out. Those are just as much a part of Ramona as how caring she is, and there aren't many out there who appreciate them the way Rosa does. While I do think there's some mutual "we need to work on your social skills," there'd be very little "beast taming" involved from Rosabella. I fully expect Ramona would remain just as rough and wild and Rosa would be very into it. I honestly think there'd be more UN-taming of Rosabella, encouraging her to be even more outspoken.

I think they'd definitely be cool together, and they would get a LOT of stuff done. Like it might actually be too powerful of a combination. They obviously wouldn't get together til later in the series when Ramona's transferred back in from reform school, but once they do, look out world. Any kind of hang-ups and rules people still had about "a princess must look and act like this," or "these kinds of people are bad guys" or whatever are going right out the window whenever the two of them are in a room.

It's a purely headcanon ship so it's going in B-Tier with the other purely headcanon ships, but it's a real high B-Tier and has my seal of approval!
