Other than Seer/Wraith, what other Apex ships are your jam? I'm very curious!

Seer/Wraith is fun but tbh not a “jam” persay, but flattered you asked! Big Jams incoming~

(these are in no order whatsoever, I like some more than others, some barely qualified as a jam but you know, jam is jam)

-Mirage/Hound, Miragehound, is an OG fave of mine, I think I was (am?) one of the more prolific miragehound writers. Love them still. Like many, big factor is the seen/unseen aspect and that they each fill holes the other has. 

-Horizon/Bangalore, Horizonlore, came to me in S7 with help of my friend and is one of my more active ships I fuckin' love. Mary deserves love and so does GrumpyLore.

-Horizon/Bloodhound, Horizonhound, it’s good shit. Gay as fuck. Valid as hell. I have a very long fanfiction that is ALMOST done but I kinda had to abandon it a-while back. Might try and finish it up and publish it though it’d be out of date with the seasons we’re in lmao. 

-Crypto/Wraith, Cryptaith, this ship is like my main underground jam. I love it, I think it has a lot of potential and is a far “quieter” ship than a lot of the other ones. Two melancholy people trying their best to become themselves again who are also huge meganerds There is basically zero content for this besides a one-shot I made for it last I checked, which is personally a shame. But they live in my head rent free.

-Loba/Octane, Lobatane, this isn’t as big for me as it used to be but I find it fun, basically a crackship. The fact they canonly work together/are friends (lorebook) helped lmao. I like the opposites attract dynamic. And I like the idea of making fun of Loba for liking twinks. 

-Lifeline/Rampart, Rampline, lookit these lil’ lesbians. I love them. Soft. Chaotic. Dangerous. I think Lifeline needs someone a little chaotic like Octane but unlike Octane, Rampart is actually pretty chill off-field. I just feel they really match each other’s energy, just at different angles. 

-Wattson/Mirage, Wattage, my friend got me into this one. They both like puns. Massive dorks. Might have a rocky start but I think as they get into it they’d grow together. 

-Loba/Bangalore, Lobalore, I didn’t really like them until more recently. They’re my go-to “if they’re gonna actually put a canon relationship in Apex, this is the best one they could do”, and honestly I mostly like them in art and canon, but they are really fucking good. I think they have good chemistry, and obviously there is interest on Loba’s part, and this is my personal musing regarding canon, I think Bangalore is also interested, but not immediately. She has her brother to find; Loba has issues with Rev but she’s found him and exacted most of her revenge, so she’s ready to move on where Bangalore can’t yet. Once that changes, I think they could meld well. 

-Fuse/Bloodhound, Fusehound, yeah I’ve fallen down the same hill everyone else has. Truthfully I think BH just needs a friend, but like Lobalore they have really good chemistry because of this. Fuse pulls them out of their shell, BH makes him realize/confront that he has his own issues (ex. Maggie’s suicide) and I think they both like to party. 

Also, Fuse is a DILF and BH has a type don’t @ me.

HC Rampline where Lifeline gets sick?

Sorry this took a bit but here ya go!

-Lifeline could really go either of two ways: complete denial of her own illness or immediate recognition and bedrest and I'm going with the first one

-She always gets really tired when she's sick. Falling asleep standing up type of deal. Rampart tries to get her to go to bed early, but she always has an excuse

-Soon enough the cough starts, but she's popping cough drops like skittles. But Rampart hears her coughing in her sleep and at that point stays up all night so she can look her in the eye in the morning and tell her if she sees her at the Games she'll duct tape her to the bed

-Surprisingly, Lifeline listens, mostly because she knows Rampart would actually do it.

-Lifeline always tries to do something while she's sick, and Rampart has to constantly shoo her back to bed.

-Rampart makes a lot of osaman when Lifeline gets sick. Generally she cooks a lot when Lifeline is sick because it's what her mom did/does for her.

-Rampart will jokingly make cross signs at Lifeline if she tries to get too snuggly because she HATES getting sick herself. Mostly because she has an iron clad immune system so whatever does get through sucks major ass.

-if she's sick a long time eventually Rampart's mom shows up to fuss, even if Rampart didn't say anything. It's like she just knows.

-The moment Lifeline feels better Rampart will glom on like a koala.

-Lifeline spends most of her time sick lamenting how much she took for granted when she wasn't.

-And sleeping

-Octane is allowed to visit if he first surrenders his legs at the door.

- this isn't because he isn't trusted to behave but because Rampart thinks it's funny and so does Lifeline. Besides, no legs means he gets to use the roller chair and a stick

Rampart x lifeline? 👀

hell yea

-Lifeline initially thinks Rampart is kind of a Octane 2.0 because their manic energy exists on the same wavelength so she’s like, “ah fuck another one.”

-But at one point they’re all meeting at the Paradise Lounge and Lifeline is early to everything and ends up spending time with Rampart in her workshop. Sure she’s pretty loud and a braggart, but she’s sitting still and focusing on something she loves and that’s Pretty Sexy NGL.

-They don’t exactly go on a “first date” but just start hanging out without Octane sometimes. And sometimes those hangouts just so happen to be at a nice restaurant.

-Rampart likes hearing about all the weird gross medical stories Lifeline has that makes Octane gag. Also, Lifeline listens but actually, like, listens, and wow, that’s a nice feeling.

-Lifeline finds she likes Rampart the more she talks with her because she sort of gradually mellows out, to a point, and she’ll have genuinely interesting conversations or insights about almost anything.

-They actually get together because they pretend to be a couple to get a discount at the movies and Lifeline just straight up doesn’t stop holding Rampart’s hand during the movie.

-Yeah Rampart doesn’t remember the movie

-They’re both confident people but in the relationship, Lifeline is far more forward.

-Rampart blushes a lot when Lifeline calls her cute things and denies it.

-Rampart has also thrown wrenches at Mirage because he pointed it out.

-Octane constantly takes credit for them getting together and always reminds Lifeline that he’s going to be her best man “or whatever lesbians have”.

-Rampart is actually a good cook but a very lazy one. If she is making dinner, she’s either feeling very generous/lovey or trying to smooth the blow of whatever fuckup she has to tell Lifeline about.

-In relationships Lifeline has a bad habit of bottling all the little things up until she explodes and did it to Rampart one time over a chip bag left out. She still feels guilty and they now try to be upfront and, just in case, sort of check-in every week or so in case there is something bothering either of them.

-Rampart is quietly insecure about her looks but the way Lifeline smiles at her in the morning usually banish any bad thoughts for the day.

-The longest Rampart has ever stayed still in her life is when Lifeline fell asleep with her head in her lap at the Paradise Lounge after a party. Record: 3h, 40m, 32s.

-It has been 82 days since Rampart last ate gum off her shoe. If she makes it another 8 she gets her three-month chip. (it’s just a smiley face that Lifeline painted on a bottle cap, but it works)

-Rampart was super nervous for Lifeline to meet her parents because they’re a bit old fashioned and didn’t tend to like her girlfriends that weren’t Indian or Hindu, but they actually kind of fucking adore Lifeline and now she’s just trying to keep them from planning a wedding.

-Rampart will fucking headbang her way to hell at a Flying Liar’s concert.

-Lifeline will come to Rampart’s shop where she has a moon chair she’ll nap in when her girlfriend isn’t rockin’ out. 

-Lifeline pretty much always buys gum for Rampart when she’s out, usually tries to get something she’s never had before. 

-She also got drunk once and just kept telling Rampart how much she loves her

-Lifeline would, on occasion, wear a braid before she was with Rampart. This was until Rampart thought it was fun to grab it and flick it while saying, “giddyap.”

- Rampart’s whole “trying to stop a wedding” thing only worked so long because there comes a day where Lifeline and her are sitting on a porch eating icecream and Lifeline just asks if she wants to get married. Rampart 100 percent almost fainted but managed to stutter out a yes. Her parents have an absolute heyday.

She felt like one of the secret agents in the old movies her papa used to watch. Dressed in dark clothes with those sunglasses too big for their faces, all serious with their guns and for some reason it was always raining when they ran after the bad guy. She wasn’t running after anyone, or from anyone, but she was running, and she was in dark clothes and carrying a secret and it was raining so…close enough.

She paused under an awning that had a pool of water weighing down, pouring off in a single steady stream. She panted, re-tucking her jacket into her pants. She had to pause for a minute to make sure it was evenly tucked in all around before she could stand to move on; she still had three blocks to go.

“Nat? Oh, wow, hey, hi!”

Her head shot up; eyes wide. Mirage in a frighteningly yellow jacket, Rampart speed-walking alongside him with her hands in the pockets of a pink coat Natalie could have sworn belonged to Ajay. Oh, no, nonono-

“Hello,” she said.

“I thought you hated storms? Oh, wait, you got your headphones on, my bad-oh, they have those Tesla, uh, thingies! On the side! That’s cool.”

She forced a smile. “Ah, yeah. Coils.”

“Whaddya’ doin’ out in the rain, mate?” Rampart asked. She really didn’t like Rampart, at all, but outside of the ring she was far more bearable. Except right now. Right now, she was twice as unbearable. She had to remind herself now was not the time to be blunt, Mirage was her friend and Rampart was his, so it was the time to try and remember the polite social outs from the communications book Crypto had loaned her.

“Walking,” she said.

“In…the rain?”

“Y…Yes. What are, what are you two doing?” Why did I ask a question-oh why, why, why?

“Getting pizza! Well, I’m getting pizza, Witt’s getting a crime against nature.”

“It’s just pineapple, Rams.”

“It’s the pepperoncini.”

“Pepperoncini are great!”

“Not on pizza.”

“You like anchovies and if that is not a crime, I’ll-I’ll…I’ll cut my hair!”

“You’d bet on that?”

Natalie slowly stepped away, glancing behind her as she approached the edge. Just a little closer, she could get in the rain and then to the alleyway a few feet from them. She’d get soaked but she could go through, come out the other side and take the next three blocks to the store and-

“H-hey, wait, Nat, is that, your, uh, is your shirt, jacket-“

“You got a xenomorph in there?” Rampart raised an eyebrow.

Natalie stopped, looking down and realizing it all too late. Before she could run, or scream or cry or something, his little head popped out of the top of her jacket.

“Kitty!” Mirage and Rampart exclaimed with squeals that almost made her wince.

Nikola, with his little soft brown seal-point tips and white fluffy fur all a mess from being in her jacket, let out a meow that could probably be heard all through Solace City. He stopped squirming and instead attempted to stretch while Mirage and Rampart crowded in, then quickly tried to not crowd while coping with their enthusiasm at the mere sight of a feline.

“He doesn’t like to be alone in storms!” She whined, before processing that they weren’t even amused, just excited.

“Can we pet him?!” Rampart was literally bouncing. She did that a lot anyway, but these bounces were concentrated at a source instead of just…being.

It took her a moment to process that too, but she recovered rather quickly. “Uh, sure! His name is Nikola.” She unzipped her jacket just a bit so he could stick his front paws out, he liked to rest them on the rims of things. Nikola was very happy to receive the love touches and cheek rubs. His purring against her belly felt like the hum of the tesla coils she had in her lab.

Mirage went full baby talk to the point of near incomprehensibility, and Rampart called him “pretty boy” ten times in three seconds.

Nikola reveled in it.

“He’s so pretty, pwetty little boy-I never got to see him before!” Mirage was grinning. It made her feel better about everything, and wonder what on Solace possessed her to think the reaction to her carrying her kitty around would be anything but utter joy.

“He’s a homebody,” she said, gently petting the top of his head with one finger. He meowed.

“I wonder if they make earplugs for cats?” Rampart looked at Natalie. “Y’know, cause storms.”

“They do, but he doesn’t like them.” She shrugged, smiling. “He just hates being alone.”

“Well he’s cool.”

“He’s just chillin’ in your jacket. Sweet little dude,” Mirage nodded. She smiled, her nerves having dissipated.

“I just was getting food,” she admitted. A rumble of thunder made her jump and prompted Nikola to pull his head in. “They don’t deliver on Sunday’s.”

The pair glanced between themselves. “You wanna get pizza with us?” Rampart smiled. “I’ll even share my anchovies with fuzzybutt.”

“Meow,” Nikola said, in a tone which Natalie knew meant stark agreement.

Though she wasn’t one for spontaneity, she had nothing else going on… “If I can get pepperoni,” she said, and began walking with them as they continued from the awning. The pizzeria was at the end of the street.

“Hell yeah, maybe I can get Renee to come over. She’ll just roll a whole pizza up and eat it like a burrito,” Mirage said while opening the door, shuffling in behind the two women.

“I’d like that,” Natalie said, finding herself smiling.

Nikola meowed softly from her jacket. Yes, it all sounded very nice.
