Excellence vs Success

So I was watching 3 idiots for the umpteenth time yesterday and this post I just reblogged reminded me of a quote from that movie.

"Don't run after success, run after excellence and success will run after you"

I think it just resonates so well with (especially) kids in college because I'm assuming you're studying what you want to study and when you're doing that you should be there to learn, to excel, to be able to use your knowledge. Not to get the second best grade in the class by memorizing and then either completely forgetting about what you memorized or not being able to apply your knowledge.

Now I know that this is very hard to implement (especially in high school where you literally have no choice but to memorize bc the school system is so fucked) but once you get to a point where you love what you're learning about if you just change your mindset and start changing your study behavior to learn rather than memorize then, in the words of Rancho, all the success will coming running to you.
