"The joker deserved nothing”. Well, too bad. Joaquin won and it was very much deserved. People are always so quick to think that just because we praise an actor's performance on a fictional character that it means we're condoning the actions of said fictional character. No, it's not that at all. People really are overly sensitive and so politically correct these days. It's pathetic.
First off, this a random thing to send me for making a comment on another person’s post. Second, that is my friend’s opinion. I haven’t seen the Joker, nor do I really care if I do. Thirdly, I never said anything about how praising an actor’s work is condoning anything. I think Anthony Hopkins was wonderful as Hannibal Lector, doesn’t mean I condone serial killing and cannibalism. Also, he hasn’t won the Oscar yet, he has just been nominated, and my friend was referring to all the noms the movie got, not just the acting.
So really, since you felt the need to send me this anon. I think you’re the one being overly sensitive about someone criticizing a movie. I think J Phoenix is a very good actor, from the other things I’ve seen him in. Doesn’t mean I can’t have my own opinions about his performance in this one, or in this case, my friend has this opinion. Which I shared with someone else, who asked for others thoughts on the movie. If you read more into my one sentence response, that is on you.
