look. i didn’t need to do this. but ftpcast watches steven universe (specifically jail break) -- obvs there’s spoilers bc i can’t keep my mouth shut about the ship

idk if sora has a tumblr equivalent and has seen the “garnet is a fusion theory” post or if he’s just got a good attention to detail and picked it up on his own (i’d believe either, the second specifically if they’d rewatched the episodes a lot)

anyway the point is he’s fucking PUMPED about that theory and he’s talked kairi’s ears off about it and how he thinks it’s so true

they get to the return, jasper hits garnet, she goes plPFF and sora starts SCREAMING all like “ooooOOOOHHH” and perhaps at last he waits before saying anything more bc he hasn’t talked to riku and namine about it and he dosen’t want to spoil them (also i don’t want them to know until the reveal)

anyhoo at some point (perhaps during the comercial break while grabbing snacks) he grabs kairi by the shoulders starts shaking her “I CALLED IT!!! IIII CAALLLLEDD IT!!!” “called what” “oh geeze your dumb theory again” “TWOOOO GEMS KAIRI THERE WERE TWO GEMS” he’s holding two fingers up bouncing with only-barely contained excitement “yeah and” “I WAS RIGHT! uhhhhhHHH i feel like someone yells at lapis when she tells steven to leave her there but perhaps not or kairi might idk i think riku’s still worried about ruby at the time and namine doesn’t seem like she would???? idk

anyway ruby/sapphire reunite and fuse and sora literally jumps off the couch screaming “OHHHHHHHHH OOHHHHH OHH I WAS RIGHT TAKE THAT KAIRI I WAS RIGHT!!” kinda jabbing down at her

lmao i dont have tv anymore so idk if the dvr “pause live tv” thing is 100% common now but i hope they have on and if they do someone scrambles to pause the tv i was gonna say either riku or namine but it might be kairi??? just doing that while she refuses to grant sora a response

sora is this screaming ball of nerves throughout the rest of teh episode he’s literally bouncing he’s so happy he nearly cries like twice and i mean i was gonna peg riku ast he one who cared so much about this, but, uh, nah

he cares but no one seems to ship it as much as sora does

when lapis/jasper fuse and lapis turns on jasper riku starts crying a little because lapis so suddenly and very violently reminds him of magik’s namine and he needs a moment or twenty three

i need to put a scene in book 5 where joseph goes to get ice cream and he's like "man i forgot a winner stick again i have fifty million of these things i swear they're just piling up because i forget to trade 'em in for free ice cream" and then the ice cream lady gestures to the wall behind her "y'know you can trade them in for other things too right" and joseph is just "NOOOOO WAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYY"

JUST KEEP IMAGINING Sora and Kairi badmouthing Maleficent in their native tongue during Falling to Pieces

unfortunately Maleficent is in earshot and while she can't UNDERSTAND them she knows their talking about her because their argument has included frequent gestures in her direction (sora and kairi both talk with their hands) (tbh they probably aren't exactly badmouthing her it's more an argument where kairi's like "OKAY SHE'S A WITCH I DO NOT TRUST HER" and Sora's like "I DON'T EITHER BUT I DON'T HAVE ANOTHER CHOICE HERE")

regardless of what they were actually discussing, Maleficent comes over and towers over them and is just like "and what were you two talking about?" she doesn't look pleased but at least it's just a quiet seething at the moment Kairi probably jumps she's so startled poor Kairi Sora doesn't jump but he does pale considerably and he just stutters "well. uh. we were. maybe. uhm"

Kairi saves him with a surprisingly calm "I was just asking Sora when we planned on going home"--mind you she still trembles a little and her voice squeaks just slightly Sora sends her a look and now they're arguing again just passive agressively while explaining it to Maleficent (if that makes sense??) "and I was trying to explain to her that we'll go home as soon as I've finished here" Sora says Kairi glares at him "he hasn't made a very convincing argument as to why he wants to stay, though"

Maleficent probably replies with reminding Sora why he's here which I forget entirely (I think it largely had to do with getting stronger??) and Sora adds "yeah and I can't just quit in the middle" Kairi fumes but she doesn't storm off like she wants to because Maleficent is right there and she doesn't dare turn her back on the witch
