When you help someone, you accept some amount of their burden and their pain as your own. Your suffering compounds while theirs lessens, and your good deed is acknowledged outwardly by room you create, decreasing your own output just so much to balance the energy you must then invest back into your own life to top back up your own till.... in essence when we help others, we give of ourselves. Small bits and pieces here and there, that almost seem to make the most generous of us lose our identities outside of our kindness completely...
But Oh-! To be known for your heart and your love and you routinely good spirit...
I'm sure that's what Jesus would do.
