Bernie Leadon Missing from Eagles “One of These Nights” (Through the Years) Video
- Montage promotes just-released deluxe issue of 1975 LP
Eagles’ so-called Through the Years live video for “One of These Nights” features the Hotel California and the Long Run lineups of the band - along with the modern touring edition - but leaves out one crucial element: the roster that recorded One of These Nights.
That leaves guitarist and co-founder Bernie Leadon as the only Eagle not represented in the video montage released to promote the recently released deluxe edition of OOTN.
It’s nevertheless fascinating to watch and listen to as various Eagles come and go, the number of uncredited backing musicians grows and the band morphs from a (minor) warts-and-all live act to one that’s so perfect it’s enough to make thoughts turn to backing tracks.
Perhaps there’s no video of the band that recorded One of These Nights performing “One of These Nights,” hence Leadon’s MIA status. That seems a logical explanation as the remaining Eagles have a better relationship with him than with Don Felder, who features prominently in the clip.
