it wasnt my intention to blow this out of proportion. i simply answered asks and agreed with some people, its not a thing i think of daily or that actually makes me angry

i do understand marketing. i know that it’s most likely just the companies telling dan and phil to do all this.

i know phil is 28. i know that he’s not actually bothered by this. i was bothered by phil not getting the recognition he deserves.

im not 13 but i dont actually care about yall calling me that but fuck all of you for minimising my voice just “because im like 13″. its not immature to have an opinion. its immature to trash someone you dont know just based on what they are discussing on their blog at the moment.

the conclusion is i dont actually fucking care about this. i can list like 40things just in my head that i care about more. but no one actually cares when i bring up subjects like feminism or racism on here and thats not my fault

its not my fault people got angry or blew this out of proportion. i encouraged people to keep arguing by agreeing to what they said and answering them because i believe that arguing is good and that teenager’s voices often are quieted down in society which i hate. your age does not decide for how valid your points are.

i think a lot of wording in this argument is unnecessarily hostile towards both d and p. its good to draw attention to the fact that phils ideas are consistently being made into ~dan and phil~ things, and that dan often gets partial credit to things purely phils. but its a tad bit unnecessary to claim that dan is treated as phils "caretaker" and say shit like "why cant phil do anything on his own" ? like its rude and things arent like that and it seems like ur manipulating the situation

I want to start with that the caretaker stuff was meant to be viewed in a humorous manner, I’m also well aware that I’m an incredibly salty person. I can be, and often am, very partial in my opinions and arguments and I’m sorry for that. This whole thing wasn’t intended to get as big as it did (even though I can’t deny the fact that I’m enjoying this…..) so I just said what I felt. Now that it’s gotten more serious I have tried to say that I understand that D&P most likely have little to no impact over the situations and how companies treat their brand, and I don’t blame any of this on Dan (Or more correctly, I hate that Dan interrupts Phil whilst he is speaking all the time. But other than that I’m fine).

I have written a lengthy text regarding this subject before, but I can’t find it.I don’t think he has a horrible relationship with his family, but I don’t think it’s especially good. If you compare him to Phil, for example. Phil visits his parents quite often and especially on holidays. More often than not Dan follows Phil to Isle of Mann and spends time with Phil’s family rather than his own. He also hides things about his family, like major things. It’s not something I can go in to detail about but shortly said, there are details his fanbase doesn’t know. Also that he says things like “I’m so happy I don’t live with my parents” because yes I understand that it’s nice to be living on your own and not having them nag about everything. But when he says stuff like that it sounds more as if he is relieved to be away from them and his family rather than being happy about getting to make his own decisions.

It’s hard to explain but as Sarah stated a lot of people are really quick to hate on women who associate themselves with Dan and Phil and often hate female youtubers even though the female youtuber has done nothing wrong whilst dan and phil are really problematic at times (like more problematic than said female) which is like internalized misogyny bc u are taught to love men and hate women etc etc you get the deal. A lot of girls (im just talking bout girls atm) also often degrade themselves or the female gender in order to make dan/phil look funny or good?? It’s really hard to explain without ranting and using big words which im unfortunately not in the mood for but yeahh. A lot of girls in the fandom just tear down other girls for unnecessary shit or to protect dan or phil when protecting is not necessary

Okay but u just assumed that vanilla Dan was white?? Um. Also ur saying how white people should stop deciding what oppression and racism is but ur doing exactly that? Smh

1. i checked her instagram. she was white in her selfies. science friend!

2. im literally just saying what my poc friends and poc phandom members already have said, which i have stated. like a person just messaged me 

“hey white people can know what racism is BTW. They just don’t have a right to say what is and what isn’t to us. Sincerely a black girl who has the rights to say what racism is”

which is about what I mean. What a lot of people are doing is that they are contradicting the poc people who say that Dan’s actions are wrong. I’m simply siding with them and saying that you can’t just tell an oppressed person that they aren’t oppressed.

3. some people have said that because of this im not a fan of dan. sometimes you need to call your favourite people out and that is just a part of life. i call my best friends out daily on shit they say and do, that does not mean i love them any less. im just saying that dan has done wrong and defending myself when nasty anons are rude to me :))

I see that you think that Dan is problematic, I get that sometimes. But I don't think that he meant the whole Indian accent thing in a derogatory way. Saying that, I do believe he should have addressed the issue. That's doesn't make him as the racist to the extreme you categorize him as.

i didn’t say that?? I said his actions were wrong and low key gross but i never labeled him as a racist. soz if im getting a lil defensive atm but anyway i dont think dan did a concious choice of being racist or even thought about it but there was an underlying tone of racism in his words so yeahh his actions were wrong but he isnt ygm

when………. did i say that what shane did was ok ???? i dragged him so hard lmao i have said soooo many times his jokes are disgusting. BUT the difference with shane and dan is that shane has listened to the criticism and actually tried to learn and change his behaviour and dan is just a lil too “good” to realise his wrongs lmao like yea  it was in 2012 but he hasnt showed any signs of trying to change and he never apologised bye
