im getting bored of the charlie kirk post its been fun but i wanna look at my podcast yuri and yaoi in peace. if you followed me because of the post, thank you and hello, but i hate to inform yall that i have never been an insightful politics blog (though i have very big opinions) i mostly reblog fiction podcast stuff and im actually not super active on tumblr (sorry to disappoint!)
You know what? You're free to think whatever you want about Charlie Kirk. All I wish for you is that you understand and appreciate your First Amendment rights, because it is one of the Amendments most easily taken for granted. Because one day it won't be there for us any more, and we will all be at risk of being silenced like Kirk was because the powers-that-be decided they don't like what we have to say. And that goes for everyone, regardless of political standing. Have a blessed day.
what gets be about this argument is that hes not being punished for free speech. the implication that its The Government who organized his assassination isnt "proven" (if you believe this, have fun, im not saying its above the U.S. government by any means) the facts we have present a different story. kirk was killed by a civilian, not as an act of government punishment. im not blind though, and i do see that the U.S. is coming closer to limiting the right to free speech if someone is dissenting from the rhetoric the president and his stakeholders want to maintain. however, this violation of our right to free speech is primarily targeting the exact populations charlie kirk spoke against, because he was a mouth piece for right wing rhetoric. i think everyone should have the right to free speech, but that right doesn't mean you wont get consequences. if you run a mainstream platform based on hatred and upset both sides of a political extreme, you set yourself up to be a target.
to reiterate: charlie kirk's murder was not a government attack on free speech. the government is limiting our right to free speech (im sure you've heard about the Jimmy Kimmel situation), but these limitations are happening mostly to people speaking out against our president, not those who receive a medal of freedom from him posthumously
very funny to me that people continue to call me evil and crazy on The Post when i 1) clearly dont gaf, 2) think its very funny, and 3) have addressed like 97% of their arguments already and am clearly not interested in changing my position. i think charlie kirk deserved to die yesterday, today, and tomorrow

i use both she/her and they/them pronouns because i have days where i connect more with femininity and days where i don't feel any strong connection to a binary gender. i prefer they/them, as its more generalized and i feel more androgynous than i do feminine most of the time. people can use them interchangeably, but my close friends exclusively use they/them for me :)
