Copia, the rat, is still alive.

And with the amount of blood he lost I am shocked. I believe he was bit badly by his brother, Templeton, while play-fighting.

He isn't bleeding anymore. Just very sleepy.

Three local vets all shrugged it off. Said to watch him throughout the day (duh.) but he will likely be fine...

So Ratblr...

What the fuck do I do?

Both of my boys are 6 months old, from the same litter. I'm a new rat mom but I understand this is basically adolescence for them? So aggression is normal?

I have a new, bigger cage in the mail. Should be here as soon as tomorrow. But I can't keep them separate all the time or watch them all the time for that matter...

I'm just very concerned about future incidents occuring.

If you know what to do, please help this lost and concerned Rat Mom...

anyone got suggestions on the best way to clean the tails of rats who havent been in water yet ??? my girl's tails are super grubby

hELP ! how do i go about trimming my rats nails? n what should i use for it (their nails are getting v long n sharp and whilst i don't mind getting accidentally scratched by them, i dont want any lil kiddos being hurt when holding them bc their skin is more delicate than mine)

my rat gals are very wriggly so i'm worried i'll hurt their hands n feet or their bodies (and tbh, their feelings too) and i wanna be able to do it as pain free as possible !!

My rats will now only drink out of one bottle which would be fine if they weren’t in separate cages for hormonal aggression for the next two months

I’ve gotten new bottles I’ve switched them around but no they’ll only drink out of one idk if I have to buy the exact same one or what I bought one of the exact same brand with the same ball and barrel thingy and they won’t drink it so idk what to do

you can get nutrition supplements prescribed by the vet, which are usually pretty flavorful, so you shouldn’t have too much trouble getting your rat to take them out of the syringe. you can also feed older rats meat baby food for extra weight, and if they’re having too hard of a time eating pellets, making a pellet mush they can lick up is also an option. i really hope this helps. best of luck! 🐀♥️

is kale part hairless or just losing hair? also i love this baby....

hes losing fur. its deff thinned out as theyve gotten older (theyre actually all from the same litter!) and kale has lost the most fur. 

a little bit of it is barbering, but thats mostly on his chest. since he can’t reach all of himself, he over grooms the spots he can. so i need to increase rates of bathing to help with that, i think.

somedays my rat, Maz doesnt bite me and loves crawling over my hands and then other days she snaps at my hands and draws blood ???? not sure if i'll even get replies on this, but can it be something to do with her age as she's a teenager now? or is it something else entirely? because sometimes i feel like i'm making progress with her biting habit, but then she seems to take a step back again

Fleece!?

So I'm going out to get fleece for my rattie cages but I have a few questions... How often does it have to get washed? Do your rats chew their fleece bedding? Thanks☺️
