What did they say about dating again? The honeymoon phase won’t last forever. Some would end in two weeks after the official dating began, and some would end after a few months. For them, it took years.
He’s not sure when it first started to dim out. He didn’t see the signs, being too busy trying to gather Sickles and some Galleons by doing some odd jobs in Diagon Alley or whatever it is that he can do. He should have took the job at the Ministry but being a stubborn person that he is, he chose to work as a clerk at Flourish and Blotts smacking and yelling at a cage full of the ferocious The Monster Book of Monsters. Why the hell they still uses that book for school anyway, they need to choose a more recent one, He can name a few books that cover latest information about magical creatures and maybe he’ll send a letter to the current COMC professor about it. Maybe. It’s not within his job description why should he bother?
Chanyeol rubs his eyes tiredly, hands itching to light a cigarette but he reminds himself that he had stopped years ago. He doesn’t know why he always feels tired all day, finding himself going to bed earlier and waking up later than before. It’s like his body always demanding sleep and the idea of going to work or just doing anything small like fixing himself and Baekhyun breakfast sounds like an impossible chore.
Maybe he just want to stop thinking too much about everything. When he’s asleep he doesn’t have to deal with his pathetic career life or the anxiety of having to find a more well-paying job than this one. he’s 21 and his mother is still talking about how he should’ve try to get a job in the Ministry. Or Baekhyun.
The day drags on for him and when it was time for him to go home, he sighs out of relief and Disapparates back to the apartment he shares with Baekhyun. He fixed dinner for them both, a simple pasta dish which he only ate a small portion of it alone. Baekhyun said he’ll be home a little later than usual and he’s not sure if Baekhyun will eat at home or not, he finds it a little hard to care about it right now. Chanyeol takes his half-finished plate, wrapping the plate with plastic wrap and putting it into the fridge. Maybe if he’s feeling hungry later he’ll microwave it and eat it again. He didn’t feel like eating anything and he realizes that he’s been losing his appetite for awhile; he didn’t remember the last time he ate lunch.
Chanyeol retreats back to their bedroom, the digital clock on their nightstand showing 20:23 but he goes right into the comforter, pulling it so it cover his head and blocking the bright light of their bedroom light. The tall male doesn’t even bother to change into his sleeping attire or turning off the lamp, he just lay there awake and staring blankly to the darkness under the comforter.
He lost track of time and only snapping back to reality when he heard Baekhyun announcing that he’s home. Chanyeol listens to the sound of familiar footsteps and the sounds of Baekhyun changing clothes. He peeks out from his blanket cocoon, muttering ‘Welcome back,’ and forcing a small smile on his face to greet his husband. He returns the hug Baekhyun gave him briefly before rolling to his sides and going back to hide from the bedroom light once again. He closes his eyes, reminding himself that he had intended to sleep in the first place. Funny how he ended up daydreaming.
