did a 15k today!!!!! I haven't done that since 2024 :)
but uh I think it definitely showed...
legs: grand
lungs: supreme, my G's, my babies
knees: surprisingly cooperative given the distance
stomach: churning burning flipflopping motherfucking ass-eating agony...
after 2x imodium and several glasses of water and being submerged in a bath and engorging toast though i feel pretty normal. i'm kind of annoyed that it took so much out of my GI tract. I love long runs due to the challenge of it, the whole "how much further can i explore/push myself", but my one friend pointed out this is more like "what are you running from" territory. THE DEMONS, CALEB.
i'm used to doing 8 miles, worked my way up to 8 gradually. usually what works for me on 8 mile runs is a breakfast of eggs and maybe a banana or toast, or maybe some trail mix if i'm not that hungry. this time i tried having skyr beforehand. i wonder if that was what killed me. fucking dairy.
oh well. we recovered. i wish i could make a regular habit of one-shot 9 mile runs when i start working 40 hour weeks this summer, but i doubt that'll be possible. maybe that's a good thing. i tend to work myself to exhaustion when i'm idle.
anyway, to do:
I-9 appointment this evening
continue recovering from whatever gastrointestinal nuke i delivered unto myself today
communicate with potential roommate
drive back from my parents' house. i totally overstayed my welcome there lol but my mom's cooking is so good. i have it like 3 times per year
start a new book. i finished Neuromancer last night and I have thoughts (TM) (I'll probably make a separate post about it since it affected me WAYYYY more than I thought it would, like, it's probably now one of my favorite novels of all time and I wish i'd found it in high school when I was bored asf in the library and searching for novels). anyway I picked up its sequel Count Zero and also The Lost Language of Oysters. I might start the latter as a palate cleanser. It's about a rivalry between two professors, so I can't wait to devour it in one sitting. I say as I CONTINUE to avoid Katabasis. I'm sorry RF Kuang I'm really trying
