It isn’t particularly hard for a stranger to intimidate Fiora, but to cow her in the manner that Calla certainly has does take a little more something than the average person would have; whatever it is, Calla has it in spades. It’s her sharp elegance; her intelligence, bright as cut diamonds in the sun; the way she can, does, and will get what she wants; her wealth and how she knows just the way to handle it all. Calla would have every reason not to even know of Fiora’s existence, but Fiora is absolutely aware of Calla and avoids her just as much as she steers herself clear from the paths of those far crueler than Calla herself.
