I like to imagine that there are different variants of the vampire lord form based on different species of bat, with some even being Fluffy™️, and thinking about that has got me nosey :P What kind of bats do you think the Ravenwatch would be?

I’m so so so so sorry it took me this long to get to this ask. It’s been like easily over a year. But I wanted to put thought into it and then intimidated myself into inaction. ANYWHO—

I’m going to avoid the easy answer of: VAMPIRE BATS OF COURSE! and post some different kinds of bats that remind me of the Ravenwatch under the cut.

Fennorian: In my fic “I Don’t Want To Be Stuck Like This” I imagined Fennorian as something kind of like this cute little brown bat! (And also similar to the last bat at the bottom of the post. Like a mix of the two bats!)

Gwendis: for Gwendis I chose this bat. I don’t know why, it was just something about it made me think of her. (I believe this is a Little Big Ear Bat? Google was not my friend tonight).

Adusa: I chose this Indonesian Fruit Bat purely because of the way it’s Mean Mugging the camera. I mean come on that bat doesn’t take shit from ANYONE, and neither does Adusa!

Verandis: I saw the PERFECT photo of a huge elegant, intimidating, leering bat curled in on itself when I first started looking for bat photos and of course cannot find it again. This is the closest I’ve been able to find and I think it’s another kind of Indonesian bat?

and finally!!!! This photo of a bat I stumbled upon just makes me think of the Ravenwatch in general so I am including it!
