Reine des fleurs - Ravir system

Since I received an ask about the Ravir system, I decided it would be better to just do a post on it. I didn’t quite understand the Ravir system from the explanation on the website and the play videos, but once I actually play the game it wasn’t as complicated as I thought. The game also guides you through the first ravir very nicely. I’ll be using the ravir shown in one of the play videos as an example in order to avoid spoilers. 

The rest of the explanation will be under the cut because this post is long.

Before ravir begins there will be the information collection stage, where you decide who to talk to for information. Sometimes, the twins Akane and Ruri will offer hints on who will have helpful information.

The hint popup at the bottom right shows up every time the twins have hints to share. How much info they share depends on whether you’ve bought konpeito for them. More on the konpeito later.

This time round Akane recommends speaking to Hubert. Next is to choose the characters you want to speak to.

A ‘!’ means that character has important info. It is possible if the twins have not been given enough konpeito, for there to be characters with info who are not marked with a ‘!’ so be careful.

Select the characters to speak to. In general, choose those with the ‘!’ and just fill the remaining slots with whoever. 

Violette will go and speak to the characters chosen.

And the ‘get information’ popup will appear if you’ve chosen the right people.

Now choose the characters whose info you want to use for the upcoming Ravir. Pick the ones with ‘!’ unless you are intending to fail the Ravir.

Before Ravir begins you have the option to save your game first. You will not be able to save, or view the menu etc during Ravir. You can press (X) twice anytime to restart the Ravir.

You will be shown the victory conditions for this Ravir. It’ll help you decide what options to select during the Ravir.

Ravir interface: The HP bar on top belongs to Violette. The other belongs to the conversation target. The field refers to how in your favour this Ravir is going from. Pink means more favourable. The objective of Ravir is to finish with Violette’s HP higher than the other person’s. 

The info you chose previously will be used for conversation topics.

A couple of times during Ravir options will appear. There is a time limit. Whether you should choose the left or right option or just let time run out depends on what outcome you are aiming for.

If you choose the right options, your opponent’s HP will go down.

Near the end of Ravir there is the sequence input segment. Just hit all the buttons shown in that order before time runs out. 

This graphics appears if you hit all the right buttons.

If successful, an indicator appears and opponent’s HP is drained even further.

Victory screen for Ravir. You’ll get points for your victory. As long as your HP is higher it’s counted as victory. Your opponent’s HP doesn’t have to be zero.

Defeat screen if you fail Ravir. You get no points.

Konpeito/Shop system:

The points from Ravir can be used in the shop, accessible from the main menu. More shop items will be available as you progress in the game. Buying konpeito for the twins will enable them to provide more info for you. You will only have to buy each shop item once. You cannot keep redoing the same Ravir for more points. 

Some of the sequences you have to input are longer than others. You will need to fail some of the Ravirs if you want to collect all the endings.
