I'm sure this has been asked before, but what is your favourite Redwall book and why??

It hasn’t, actually! This is the first ask about Redwall I’ve gotten ^^

Marlfox used to be my favourite, but it’s one of the few I’d have to reread (I lent it to someone over a year ago along with The Bellmaker and Martin the Warrior).

Out of the ones I have read recently The Pearls of Lutra was the one I liked best the whole way through. The puzzle quest at the abbey and the journey to Sampetra and the happenings there were equally enjoyable to read, and it has one of the best casts of characters, in my opinion.

I’m also very fond of the middle portion of The Legend of Luke. Because the story is so short it keeps up the pace and the tension and there are much more personal stakes going on between the hero and the villains than usually in a Redwall novel.
