So, we’re just all gonna talk about Chloe’s new blue streak in her hair and ignore the fact that Damon is after Rachel because the fire she started destroyed his mill. Oh, and Damon is noted to be a murderer!?
Lets also forget the fact that James warned Chloe about Rachel being dangerous, and Rachel might do something crazy because of her new found mother, Sera.
And while we’re at it... let’s look past the titles of Life Is Strange... “Awake” which we find Chloe awake from a nightmare in the junkyard. "Brave New World" Chloe and Rachel make a promise to leave Arcadia Bay together. And last... "Hell Is Empty (and all the devils are here)”. The three titles are taken from Shakespeare's compositions. Shakespeare said "Hell is empty and all the devils are here", which relates to the fact that Rachel's mom is an element, as Frank said, dangerous? What about Damon? Or the inner war that Rachel and Chloe are fighting?
And um, The Tempest... let me just say, it wasn’t a coincidence the students of Blackwell were doing that specific play. In “The Tempest” the storm acts as an image of chaos, reflecting the uncertainty of political and other kinds of power (magic, patriarchal family, art). In romance tradition the sea often separates loved ones; shipwreck is a popular motif. Shakespeare exploits the drama inherent in the shipwrecks of romance but also makes symbolic use of the power of the sea and the storms often associated with it. *HENCE* The main title: “Before The Storm”.
But yeah, Chloe’s blue streak... *cat clawing motion* RAWR
