#Toasting with ladies who grabbed life by the horns 😈 One is a structural engineer, one is a sous chef at the biggest resort in AZ, one is a lawyer, and the other is a sommelier in NYC. I met these girls before I started my career, and we've watched each other grow. My #weddingdress was everything I designed it to be, with added features I wasn't expecting! I got to be braless for the #wedding! I got to wear 100% stretch fabric, so it was comfortable dancing! It is a leotard underneath, so I was comfortable being in gogo clothing vibe 😁 My maidofhonor sewed it to bustle it perfectly before dinner, and I found out through the night that I was able to dance without having to hold my skirt up! Plus, it's all lace appliques on mesh which I'm obsessed with! If you have the power to make your own dress, do it! I have to admit, it was a bit of a struggle being my own seamstress, my own #destinationwedding planner, and paper floral designer (much gratitude to the #wedding party for the help on this)! 🙏 All while taking care of a very sick pet. I think the universe was testing me and my #adventurebuddy's bond. Choosing a venue was the first thing we did for our wedding. We both knew we wanted outdoors, under a canopy of trees. It was actually very difficult to find! We were finding garden weddings, which we thought was too polished. We wanted nature in all its glory! When I visited #sunwolf, I thought it was totally us! Nature in its natural state, with comfort on the side! Comfortable enough for our family and adventurous enough for our friends! When people got there on Friday, the most asked question was, "where did you guys find this place?!" Everywhere you turn at sunwolf, it's a beautiful photograph. There's trees, moss, a beautiful river, and an award winning breakfast spot on property. IMO, the location is best when it's a little damp as the colors are more vivid! We also got lucky to have it in the beginning of #autumn with the leaves were turning! @rahkster and I got the couple's cabin with a sun roof. Every morning, I saw the yellow leaves outside. They were beautiful! It's been mentioned that the trees lined up looked like a cathedral! We got married under a natural cathedral! Totally not on purpose but our photographers captured it well! We put the karaoke in the big lodge, the acoustic guitar by the campfire, the reception under the tent, the ceremony by the open area. It was nice having the cabins at the same venue! The party lasted all night! The #raylexiswedding2019 table decor display was DIYed by us! This whole #wedding was a collabo with the #adventurebuddyand I! Our #giveaways were cute, little, custom, wood chip magnets! Purchased from etsy, lasered by @rahkster, and mossed and magneted by moi! Just look at our beautiful friends holding them! The table names are cities we've been to! We chose the ones we have the most meaningful memories from! Either a city we met at, a city we had our first date at, got engaged at, or a city where our lives took a major turn! For some of the tables, we met or went to that city with some of the people sitting in it! @rahkster digitized the font and submitted it to Phx Custom Lasering! Then, the beautiful garlands were added! I just wanna remember some of the "side stages" late night "after parties" of the wedding weekend! @rahkster and I tried hard to think of how we can both process wedding planning! I'm not a big fan of weddings and normal traditions, so I thought, "What would we do if we wanted to celebrate our love together?" Music festivals changed our lives, and we go to festivals with pretty much all our friends! The camping festivals are our favorite with their late night renegade stages and a myriad of random things to do. We ended up looking, not for a wedding venue, but for camping venues. We found a happy medium at @sunwolfbc! Something comfortable enough for our family, but also adventurous enough for our friends! #Sunwolf has a #campfire with wooden stadium type seating! My family and friends love acoustic and singing! Thanks to my cousins', (@chefcece, @dehyocrowd, and @jahmal_time) collaborative effort and the rainy season, late night campfire songs with @chefcece's was able to happen! The "campfire stage" was active every late night! On the last night, the group made a "letting go" ritual, burning the paper garlands we worked so hard on all summer (more about this later)! The ritual was filled with heartfelt messages to #adventurebuddy and I. Enough to fill our hearts with gratitude for years! The #karaoke at the lodge was a dream come true! Thanks to @jahmal_time and Ben for bringing the supplies to make this happen! More singing and shenanigans continued after midnight on wedding day! Much love to Chef Bobby Q, @chefcece, and Tita Baby for preparing and barbecuing for our rehearsal dinner! It was a great way to welcome all of our guests into the venue, get them checked into their cabins, and have them eat after a long trip from all across Northern America! I know you the food was made with love! Thanks to @imcarissa for making it fancy, and getting our aunts and uncles drunk since they hardly do! Your wine and cheese spread impressed everyone! It was an unreal feeling seeing friends and family arrive in Canada! It's been @rahkster and I's dream to travel with our friends and family together, so this was a dream come true! ✨ As a side note: we kept the #BBQ as eco friendly as possible! We ordered our plates and utensils from @greenpaperproducts! If you were wondering why the disposable wine glasses were not crystal clear, it's because it's made out of sugar cane from @selfeco!
