Ever since the bird- named Red as it were- helped him down from the tree, he hadn’t let Timmy out of his sight. Which he couldn’t be mad about; mostNORMAL adults wondered why a kid was all alone in a strange place. It wasn’t very common for people to care about a kid alone in Dimmsdale, so the gesture of someone older CARINGabout Timmy’s safety...it was different.
Just like how it was nice when they just sat a while, relaxing after the venture from the tree. Timmy managed to drag the bird around (or rather, wasFOLLOWED as Red didn’t seem to want to let him out of his sight), he mainly was seeing when his FAIRIES were going to return... What if they were in trouble? What if something was going on in Fairy World? And he COULDN’T help them...
Luckily, Red was comforting, and not too prying with questions. Maybe he would’ve asked more questions, but leaning against the SOFT plumes of the large bird, he couldn’t help how heavy his eyes got. He hadn’t noticed he’d fallen asleep.
His brain woke up, but his eyes still wanted to stay closed. It was probably still late, and honestly as soft as the feathers were, SITTING up while sleeping WASN’T as comfortable as one would hope. Still. they WERE still soft, and it felt nice to just nuzzle in closer. A small smile now appearing on his face.
After all, not counting Cosmo and Wanda, when was the last time he felt SAFE in anyone else’s embrace?
