Didn’t your so called ‘co worker’ say something?” At least he was smart enough not to take it out- or else he might have bled out by the time she finally got a taxi to drive her here.

      “It might be best if we bring you to your bathroom, it’ll be easier to clean up the mess.” And it had running water, so she didn’t have to go far to clean his wounds.

he could say that he missed finding riddles slipped into the pages of his books, but that would hardly be true. edward hadn’t darkened his door in some time. yes, yes quite some time indeed. what was his new schtick again? private investigator? right up his alley, jonathan supposes.

        “Oh dear. Am I being DETAINED?”

      While his voice was primarily cold and unfeeling, it retained just a hint of SARCASM. Upon looking up, Jonathan felt compelled to lean forward for a better view of the other.

        “You seem... familiar.”

Freeze

 Penny shivered as she sat in the small bus stop. Of all the nights to miss the early bus, she just had to on this particular one with nearly record lows, and the threat of snow on the way, there was no way she was walking home in the cold and as underdressed for the weather’s occasion as she was. A light jacket over a simple T-shirt, her jeans, and sneakers, all very unsuited for the chill seeping into her very bones.

 She tugged the jacket's collar further up around her neck and tucked her hands against her side. It didn’t help Penny was more susceptible to the cold than most people were, but she was also generally a lot more prepared than... than her current situation.

 Another icy breeze ruffled her curly hair and she shivered harshly, actually driven far enough to pout at her sneakers.

 God, she hoped the bus got here soon, and hopefully before her fingers turned a darker shade of blue.
