❛ ❛ it’s a real shame nobody asked for your opinion. ❜ ❜
@rchrds liked x for a movie quote!
“i’m pretty good at dealing with nightmares.”
❛ richie , richie , richie , i’m bored . i’m bored & and it’s all your fault . & there’s nothing to do . ❜ exasperation bleeds through her pores ; DISAPPOINTMENT veiled in sweetened criticism . a labored breath to punish him . i’m disappointed , oh so disappointed in you . the red of her mouth protrudes , fleshy & agape , begrudgingly muted , impatient . she throws her neck back , exposing the entirety of her pale , freckled throat , demanding undivided attention as the tip of her naked toes push against the table & rock her seat . ❛ the least you could do is play a game with me ... ❜ @rchrds | ❤
❛ you okay? ❜ the rooftops of the upper were always kind of picturesque, a far cry from the desolation outside the walls of crystalis. he didn’t strike her as much of a drone, maybe an exec --- maybe just an outsider but he looked so... distant. too smart for a lead-head, too lost for a local. gathering your bearings was essential for existing in this city, but man did it make you noticeable. ❛ nice view, huh? ❜

when did crystalis fully evolve?
the evolution of crystalis from an encampment for refugees and survivors to the bustling city it’s become took about seventy five years. thanks to the major cashflow from the executive counsel. it became the commerce capital of nomerica by around 82ne, eighty two years after the great extinction.
what is it like, to an outsider’s point of view?
an outsider could easily be overwhelmed by crystalis and it’s unwritten rules, it’s varying degrees of color and even the slang that’s unique to the city itself. chances are when there’s an outsider they see the city in it’s totality, not the burroughs and subdivisions of it that make it unique. they’ll notice the lights, the way the city seems crystalline when the sun hits it a certain way. then they’ll notice the advertisements, probably the transportation units and even closer still maybe even a runner sprinting along the rooftops. there’s a lot of misinformation about crystalis, how c-sec is more militaristic than most provincial police or how the lower and the subterranean are one in the same. the outsider who experiences the city for the first time, or even has an outside view is very much like looking through a glass of water. everything’s warped, you gotta get your feet wet.
what is the color scheme of crystalis?
the city is bright and beautiful but it’s also gritty and colorful, the true beauty of crystalis is it is all encompassing. the upper is crystalline, glass with splashes of neon color and the lower is more dark greys and blacks with neon plastered everywhere. the upper is where most people, especially tourists, go. they have no reason to go to the lower as everything they need is beautifully entrenched among the skyscrapers and walkways of the skies. it truly is the gem of nomerica, with something for everyone.
when echo thinks back of her life in crystalis, what does she feel? does she feel anything?
she may joke that the city’s nothing but a mask wearing rat at the counsel table, but all the same echo loves crystalis. the duality in this city is not one you can so easily find in empiria, night city, cascaida, or even dusk. though, cascaida comes close. while it’s not pride, it is loyalty to this city amidst all it’s corruption. it’d be easy for her to walk away, hell it’s probably healthier for her too but this hub, this --- bastion of post-triad greed and profitability is her home. in her eyes you don’t get the city in a week, in two weeks or even a month. it’s that one point, maybe you’re there a month and a half --- maybe it’s three or six months down the line and you have that moment. for her it was a night of bullshit partying in the subterranean and going upside to one of the twenty-four hour juice n’ jets. sitting on the edge of a skyscraper, watching the sunrise while drinking a dew drop and a half bag of chips she realized that she belonged here. everyone has that moment. her’s hit her when she was about eighteen.
* ( @rchrds asked ) : you don’t believe in that kind of stuff, do you?
oh, one was not wise to question this venezuelian woman. given her roots, she was brought up on superstitions and took them very seriously. after all, certain things only made sense when you heard the reasoning behind them. and while she was older, some of those superstitions had followed her into her adult life. the belles at her wedding had been a way to ward off the devil. and while she knew not everyone would believe it, she didn’t assume someone would question her views.
❛ something tells me you don’t. ❜ she did her best to remain cordial, but couldn’t help the slight agitation in her voice. ❛ since you are a guest at my wedding, i don’t insist that you understand my views, but that you respect them. ❜ eyes narrowed for a moment, looking the man up and down. ❛ what was your name again? ❜ a polite way of saying do you even deserve the right to have your name known?
