Continued from here.
For all her worrying talk, Spoons continued to casually wipe the bar clean before moving onto the glasses. There was always something to do here. It was like running a giant, drunken nursery sometimes.
“Could be,” she replied after a moment’s silence. “Saw some men mon pere worked for ‘fore they, ah. ‘fore they –”
She paused her work to mimic a handgun, as subtle as she could to keep anyone from the outside from knowing what she was talking about.
“They ain’t ness- ness…” She frowned as she could simply not figure out how to say the word. “Ah. Maybe will not? Look for me, yeah? Mais, ya run if somethin’ starts, ya hear me?”
This woman, her accent was so heavy and manner of speaking always took Kira by surprise. You’d think by now she’d be able to decipher the slang. But alas, it was likely all over her face that certain things she didn’t understand. Until the hand motion. Everything became fairly clear. Things might get violent in here soon and she was being looked out for.
What a kind woman. Kira didn’t even work here. Then again, dead clients are no good either she supposed.
“Ah.” Kira fidgets with her half full glass now. Stealing slight glances to the men she was referring to. Rough lot. “Of course. But managing a bar, I’m sure you’re experienced in what to do in case things ever get out of hand eh?”
