Sweet & Savoury
23 April 2016
After our morning ride, I took The Husb for lunch at Asado and to R&D Speed Shop to collect the rest of his birthday present - their fab shop kit - and couldn’t resist getting something for myself!
The latest women’s kit isn’t even on the racks yet so I scored a sneaky pre-sale before Cherry Bomb is officially launched (pending photoshoot ft @clubathletica).
Rob is pretty chuffed with his kit (hanging in the tree for effect) and is looking forward to sporting it on his latest acquisition: a 1988 Japanese Tange steel Centurion - with early down-tube index shifting and Shimano 105 six-speed; Shimano 1051 aero brakes; Araya wheels and, at the time, cutting-edge elliptical Biopace chain rings. His brother picked it up for $15 at a garage sale in Bunbury and ended up giving it to Rob when he realised it was only going to get trashed being thrown about by his youngest son. The bike is dirty but will clean up quite nicely as is (chain excepted; that needs replacing asap).
Rob rolled out a pair of his Handlebar Mustache socks for today's ride too.
