It had been a year now, a year since the event. Laya had just recently started to get back up on her feet again, got a new apartment and the band had been working almost nonstop to bring out a new album. Laya was going to her managers office to talk about the shoot for it. She had hoped he wouldn’t ask her again. She walked into his office, quickly making herself comfortable as she sat on the couch, crossing her legs. “Alright. Who do you got this time? It better be someone different.”
Michael sighed, grabbing the photo off of his desk. “She’s one of their best. You should really reconsider.”
Laya looked up at him, rage in her eyes. She stood, making Michael pause in his steps. She snatched the photo from him, looking at it. It was Re’, a picture from one of her recent shoots. She swallowed hard, before ripping the photo.
“Laya!”
“I told you to stop booking her!!”
“But you two sold tons of photos in the last shoot! What the hell happened!?”
“It’s none of your business!”
“It is if it’s affecting it!”
Laya’s jaw clenched, before slamming the door, then sitting on the couch again, legs and arms crossed. “We...After the shoot we got close, intimate. I was going to marry her.” She gave a shaky breath, legs uncrossing, leaning over them, bringing her hands to her face. “I-She couldn’t anymore. She was so unhappy with me. I was making her miserable without even realizing it. I-I can’t see her again.” Tears started rolling down her cheeks. “I-I still love her so much. I dream about her every day, about the life we could have had if I didn’t fuck it up...”
Michael sighed, looking at Laya. “Then why didn’t you just say so?”
Laya scoffed, “Have we not met?”
“I’ll cancel the shoot. Last time. I’ll have them find someone else.” Laya nodded, as Michael went back to his desk, calling the agency to cancel with Re’ and bring him photos of their other models.
