Vicky and Tootie headcanon

so remember snowbound? The 31st episode of season 3? There’s the whole exchange where Vicky explains that the fury in her heart goes out in the cold. What I got from that is another metaphor that ends in basically the same result.

Her heart expands in the cold. like water

So anyway I plan on writing their relationship as being something between season 0’s actually good sibling relationship and the rest of the show’s abusive one. So it’s more complicated than either one individually. The gist is that Tootie and Vicky are losers and isolated from basically everyone. Neither have other friends. But Vicky’s the biggest reason Tootie can’t make them. It’s a control thing.

Some silly low stakes minor character redesigns

First up! Princess Mandie, now a preying mantis. I saw her minor insect features and wanted to push those further in my design. I learned somethings about mantis anatomy from researching this. Considering her role as Mark’s arranged and unwanted fiancée, her being an alien that is quite similar to a bug that eats the guy during mating seems all too perfect. I had fun making her face a heart shape.

Second, the Fair Bears. Imma be honest. I never saw their episode. I was out of the fandom at that point and only came back years later. Don’t know how it went, but I like the concept of Chloe being so sheltered that their favorite show is something for really little kids and wanting to meet the characters because they had no real friends. It feeds into the headcanon I have that they were homeschooled. It’s true to my version of the character. I don’t particularly like their names except maybe Ray, because they’re too simple and undescriptive but I think that further emphasizes that they come from a poorly made show. With this redesign, I wanted to make them fit the FOP style, but looking back I would want to come up with a style unique to their show, somewhere between Fosters Home and Blue’s Clues so their different design sensibilities seemed more intentional and appealing.
