this person??? was in jamaa and said that so i just walked in and said “hey that’s kinda insulting/rude to the artist dude”
because it is you don’t go to a person selling their art telling them it's like saying to someone “wow dude your art is expensive it’s not even that good why don’t you lower the price ugh” or the artist saying they feel proud of a drawing they just made and you go up to them and tell them "it's not that good lol. it's actually pretty bad"
and some people actually jumped in to defend her and say that i was the one being rude and that "everyone is allowed to have an opinion" when the person with the art actually said they felt hurt.
everyone is allowed to have an opinion but don't tell people what their art is worth when they didn't ask for critique. if someone, for example is asking if they should lower their comission prices or not that's where you can say "higher" or "lower" but even then say it in a polite way, not "lower because your art isn't worth that".
tl;dr: you have the right to like or dislike someone's art but if they request a price and you don't like it walk away and ignore it instead of being like this god damn arctic wolf because a lot of the artists i know and i AN ARTIST MYSELF can say that this can hurt a lot of us, especially since so many of us are struggling with motivation but of course you shouldn't listen to me because i'm A Bully and I Need To Respect People's Opinions Dude..
