taking a quick peek at the tv tropes page for homunculus and i like that theyre using she/her for manabu. i was trying to avoid spoilers in my previous posts, but not also did i say straight away "oh shes trans"... its an old manga. i could have said it right away
my excitement to give the homunculus live action movie adaptation a shot died so fast when i read 'by netflix' lmao. also theres no way you can tell the story of All That in a single movie unless its like 4 hours, it would have been best as a series.
ALSO also i just know deep in my guts (and from youtube comments) the chances of them properly telling yukaris arc beyond 'sand girl rape scene' are like, negative one thousand. the manga itself barely gets a B grade on it (and the reason its not any lower is because again, personal life made me understand/feel what was going on despite the execution) what hopes does fucking NETFLIX have? people can count on their fingers good media about teenage sexuality/lization, oppression and rebellion and let me tell you Homunuculus (2003) Teenage Sand Symbol Girl is not gonna be a part of it
and this isnt even talking about manabus own story. the trailer seemed to have the right hints for those who read the manga but i saw people in comments saying they made natoshi a likeable character and switched his ending with manabus.... sooooo making the whole story pointless??? well what do i know. i aint watching it
I hope I'm not bein annoying or anythin but I've gotten through 3 volumes of Homunculus and it's so good too!! The way he can only really see them if he can relate to their issues brings such an interesting angle to the whole thing. I adore Manabu so far too!

since mentioning it in your last ask ive also been doing a quick re-reading to refresh my memory. as expected, i remembered a couple things wrong, so i hope they dont detriment any future enjoyment of the story.
manabu is definitely one of my top faves; in my mind homunculus has been in sleeper agent mode as opposed to ichi, who gets occasional mentions, but this truly one of the characters of all time
