The UK, the last few years, always on the verge of carrying on from your Pheromaonss and Hygienes, towards something you could well recognize as a proper scene. 2013 saw bands like Good Throb, Bomber Jackets, Frau, and Quango releasing some of the best records in the western hemisphere. West Yorkshire's Reagent Records further establish the growth of the current community-focused UK DIY scene, with cassette only releases (their bio reads "DIY label with not enough money to press records") coming in 2014, from the likes of hardcore punks Nightstalker and Salem Rages. The clear winner so far being the recently released demo from Leeds punks, No Form. Their new EP is available for free download HERE. Ridiculous for me to claim to know what this band's roots are, but my guess would be more traditional hardcore. They do know how take that by-the-numbers template and sidestep every genre convention that would hinder the unrestrained energy that flows through the demos five tracks. Raucous.Ness. Can't wait to hear more.
