Started a new DnD campaign and was thrown into a ‘previously on this poor sod’s backstory’ PLAYABLE montage of trauma the first second of the session.
I have never felt this fucking hooked on a game, and i’ve been playing since 3.5. The bleed is real, never before the backstories of the whole party felt as important and as LIVED as this. DMs: USE THAT. Helps not only with immersion but exposition and storytelling, fuck the ‘ya’ll meet at the tabern’.
It helps the people that didnt get the chance to fully flesh out the backstory do so in very organic ways, and helps those of us struggling to retain an unnecessary amount of stupid data keep what matters most, get under the skin suit and give these pile of words a breath.
I remain shooketh, how dare they use the traumatizing information I gave them freely against me???
