Forbes Investigative Report: Wall Street profits on Zillow’s woes by gobbling up starter homes. Zillow's iBuyer program came to an end last year which resulted in the company selling most of their inventory to large investors.
A recent report shows they are not the only iBuyer program selling inventory to large investors. Both Opendoor and Offerpad are as well.
About 20 percent of homes flipped by iBuyers were purchased by investors and other entities. Metro areas were impacted the most. The downside to this trend is it reduced potential inventory for homebuyers.
Will the trend continue? 🤔
