Because some days motherhood looks like this. You're flat on your back with feet in your face. Most days are pretty freaking rad as far as parenting goes. Some days look like I'm at my wits-end holding on for dear life collecting myself up off the floor. On those days, I've started asking for help, aka making videos and sending them to Steve. Maybe a video is the proof I need to hopefully get him home. Sometimes there's relief. When all is said and done, I can look back at these videos and laugh and cry and snort at the real-ness and wild-ness of life. I posted this video on @nobullshitmotherhood when I hosted a takeover a couple weeks back. @jenpastiloff runs the account, a place where motherhood is shared in a raw, real, funny, awkward, weird, wild, and loving way. Some days are like this. Some days I need help, a lot. Some days, I need reprieve. A friend. A face that nods, "I've been there too." Or friends that say, "your boobs look great today!" My friend, @musedujour, said so yesterday, and I love her for that sassy-ass honesty. And then go on talking about our favorite bras and how we need a day to treat. These are the some days. We need each other some days. After those some days are said and gone, I can find the wild humor in comedic relief. Thank god for no bullshit, belly laughter, snorts, 482 questions, and farts.
