Fleeing the Cage
The ring pressed against Galia's finger, it was a little bit to small, but it was a small price for what it could accomplish. The bit of pain was absolutely worth what it hid.
It was an integral part of what she was here to do, an important key to finally unlike the cage she had been stuck in for most of her live now. If she just survived this than she would be able to leave with out looking back.
The small piece of jewelry may be an important part of her plan, but so was the whole of the outfit she was wearing. The dress that was clinging to her figure in a way that left not enough to the imagination for her to deem it comfortable, it was perfect for what she wanted to represent though so she had worn it despite her discomfort. Her hair was pulled up in a way that exposed her neck while still framing her face delectably. The necklace she was wearing felt like it was scratching her skin but it also framed her cleavage in a perfectly enticing way.
All in all she hated the whole of it, but it was ideal for the role she would play today. Galia slid out of the far to expensive care with the driver she paid enough to for get how she looked should anyone come asking. She could count herself lucky that for all the revolting nature of her late husband he had been well of enough for her to be able to afford it.
Ding was the best thing he had ever done for her, which didn't mean a lot, considering how abhorrent he had been at times, how much he had seen her as nothing but his property. Not that he had been necessarily wrong, he had, if it came down to it, bought her form the place she had been brought up in. From the people that had been supposed to care for her.
Only little of that mattered now though, he was no longer and his cruelty had taught her how to be have like the inciting kind of woman that would make him or who ever he was trying to impress in that time with his far to young wife want her. She had learned how to get him the deals he wanted, as either the air-headed flirty pet or the kind of brilliant woman that could be perfectly dangerous if she wanted. She had never wanted to be either but if it saved her from her husbands wrath than she had been perfectly willing to do it.
To day would be the day she would get rid of the last piece making her that scared wive she had been, she would get rid of the man she was supposed to and then she would be free.
Or as free as she would ever have the chance to. If the price was an other man that couldn't keep his hands to himself but still expected his wive to cater to his every whim than that was absolutely worth it. If it meant to work for a less then savory organization for the foreseeable future that that was the price she would pay for a live where she felt in power for the first time in what felt like her whole life.
Her feet already hurt when she entered the hall that the gala would take place in, the shoes she had lend form a friend could deservedly be called torture devices but they also mad her legs look great so she was wearing them.
When Galia finally found her target he was not alone, which was less then ideal but she had only so much time to get him to take her to his room and she was perfectly capable of handling two man if needed, she had had reached her, or rather her husband's, goals in far less favorable conditions.
"I'm sorry to interrupt gentleman, i just saw you across the room and thought is this Mr Brinely talking to Mr Jirō and i couldn't believe it, i haven't had the pleasure to meet either of you in such a long time." she put on her best rich wive voice she had, in fact seen neither for the man in a long time, even before her husband died, both of them avoided mot of the events her husband frequented and she had never been allowed to go to any event except by his side. The reason for that was different for either of them thought. Mr Jirō had made it his mission to attended as much charity events promoting opportunities for a higher education for young people that other wise wouldn't have a chance to receive one, while Mr Brinely was far more similar to her late husband with a tendency to look down on anyone else especially people less fortunate than himself. The only reason she hadn't seen him all that often was that he only attended parties he himself organized or spent his free time on far less respected spare time activities.
Of the two of them she favored Jirō 's company by far, but he wasn't her target so she would have to wait for him to leave before she could do what she was here for.
It took half an hour of friendly conversation for him to see someone else he wanted to talk with and excuse him self, that was when the actual work started.
Getting Robert Brinely to take her up to his room, feed him the drug in her ring and get the information she needed.
Note

I'm not completely happy with the ending but I came to close to the word limit to actually go any deeper.
