ok im back on my anti freaky herbert ranting but ok so i apparently am not on the same page as most of the fandom so this is how i see dan and herbert’s love life so like headcanons kinda:

(nothing is really capitalized cuz this is just me ranting)

herbert is ASEXUAL!! its literally canon (in regards to movie herbert) and even if he were to have sex, which he wouldn’t, he wouldn’t be all suave like at all

herbert will always care more about his work than dan, like his work is his one true love… like he cares for dan as we see in the scene where he like hugs him kind of??? but still its his work > dan

this is mainly agreed upon but its a toxic relationship duuuuhhhh, herbert is literally coercing dan to reanimate dead bodies with him

herbert does not rely on dan for anything “lovey”, sure he relies on him for his house, access to the morgue, his aid in his work, etc. but he doesn’t rely on him for praise or touch or anything. sure i mean he is pretty touchy but he doesn’t rely on dan for touch

on the topic of touch one thing i’ll agree on is that herbert is touchy, like he’s all up over dan…

herbert is not doing like anything lovey dovey sorry.. he’s autistic and insanely focused on his work (not saying ppl with autism cant be all lovey dovey!! autism is a spectrum and for herbert i see him on a very unlovey dovey side of that spectrum )
