reasoningruffles replied to your post ““I don’t want to hurt you, but I don’t think I can stop myself.””
"There's no difference when it comes to the battlefield, Khaida..."
“But this is not a battlefield, Gracie. We are not fighting here. This is simply the Forgotten Knight.”

Character Development Questions: Hard Mode
17: What was your character’s favorite toy as a child?
“Ah… I didn’t have a favorite toy, as such. I had toys, of course, but never for long; I had an unfortunate habit of dismantling them as swiftly as they were given to me. I suppose my favorite… we’ll call them projects, things I liked to take apart to see how they were fit together - my favorite projects were clocks. Do you know, to this day, the only clock in the Haillenarte manor is in my father’s study? I suspect they still fear I may yet be incapable of resisting taking clocks apart, as though it were an irrepressible compulsion!”
20: In what ways does your character compare themselves to others? Do they do this for the sake of self-validation, or self-criticism?
“I do compare myself to others, ‘tis true - I am something of an odd duck, is it not so? I cannot help but notice it. I’ve no interest in knighthood when other men my age, hale and whole in mind and body, would do nigh anything for it. I have many accomplishments to my name, many achievements to boast of, though none a ‘proper’ Ishgardian lord, heir to a High House, should ever think to be proud of. As to why, well… ‘tis obvious, is it not? ‘Tis not a matter of self-criticism, but an observation of the facts. I would not change what I am, strange though I may be!”
24: How quick is your character to trust someone else?
“Very! I believe in trusting until given ample reason not to do so. Any man may make a mistake - aye, even a grave mistake - and live to regret it, to change his ways! I would not turn away anyone who came to the workshop without great reason to do so.”
((Give me more about Reverse AU Steph? o u o))
Send me an AU and I'll write about what my character would be like in that AU
Oh boy role reversal AU here we goSo in this verse, Stephanivien and Haurchefant switch roles: Haurchefant is a trueborn son of House Fortemps, and Stephanivien is a bastard son from a dalliance Baurendouin had before his marriage. Countess Yvonne de Haillenarte being the woman she is, she gladly takes in her husband’s firstborn and raises him as her own alongside her own children, and in many respects, Stephanivien’s life is identical to the one he leads in canon. With a few notable exceptions: he is left to work more or less in peace, though Baurendouin would like all of his sons to be noteworthy knights - and his relationship with Haurchefant is never a secret, as Stephanivien himself is unconcerned with his reputation, and Haurchefant has no reason to be concerned with his own.(He is legitimized as a son of House Haillenarte, and thus does bear the Haillenarte surname - but many still call him ‘Greystone,’ either because they do not know better or out of malice. The name doesn’t bother him, as he has never been shamed or treated badly by his family for being bastard-born.)
"Khaaaaaaiiiiiida," Gracie greeted the miqo'te with a smile, holding something behind her back. "I have someone I want you to meet!"
Khaida blinked, tilting her head to one side curiously. “Hm? And who have you for me to meet?”
reasoningruffles replied to your post “"Khaida? Do you have a moment?"”
"I'm ... afraid it may not be a particularly pleasant discussion, Khaida - not due to anything you're done, or may do, or anything like that! 'tis simply... I need your help, I think?"
Khaida blinked, then nodded. “Whatever help I can give, you know it is yours, Gracie.” She reached out to take the other woman’s hands in hers. “What is it that troubles you?”
reasoningruffles:
“It would solve more than it causes, when you consider all the angles,” Gracie said, folding her arms over her chest and pouting at the Miqo’te. “And why not do that in lieu of any better options?”
“Because there are better ways. And power...dearest, the world will not know peace until the power of love overcomes the love of power.” She pet Gracie’s cheek fondly, smiling a bit.
