FINAL PLOT DROP

BREAKING NEWS: Identity of Vigilante Thieves Has Been Found Through Valentine McDermot, CEO of Valitus & Divitis.

Cole’s name is displayed across the television, and everyone except for Romeo, Gemma, and Ferris are surprised. Ferris had at least tried to warn Ro that he should tell Cole what was going to happen, but both Gemma and Ro fought against this proposition saying that it was not worth it. Ferris taps his foot anxiously as information about Cole is thrown to the wind, but at least the rest of Reato is safe for now. As far as they can figure, Valentine only caught wind of Cole’s identity, rather than everyone else’s. You all collectively sigh, and know immediately what you have to do.

Release everything you have on that bastard and his company.

Cole doesn’t need to know for now what the trio have kept from him, it’s just a bit too uncomfortable to tell him now that you knew all along. Katia doesn’t even seem to notice the sweat beads running down your neck of the mysterious glances between one another. You all work together to make your first big story on the Reato publication. The news spreads like wildfire, and suddenly Cole’s identity being discovered is one of the least of your worries.

Just as the warehouse was becoming home, it’s time to pack up for a bit and spread out as far as possible. Where they won’t be able to find Cole more specifically, and so the rest of you can’t be connected. As you throw all your belongings into bags that you thought you’d never have to pick up again you watch the media frenzy.

Valitus & Divitis was unable to release their vaccine and are now being sued by the masses for endangerment. They’re being talked about constantly for their messed up doctrine just to gain money. Valentine’s been outed as a corrupt CEO who has been moving money into his own personal account. And, now he’s pretty much broke with hefty donations, in his name, being made throughout the entire country. Ouch... That one has got to hurt. But, there’s your good news. You’ve successfully taught V&D a lesson that they never would have thought of in their wildest dreams. You’ve taken a little bit of Valentine’s personal funds to make your final payment on the warehouse, and to buy the tickets for your great escapes.

Although Cole’s been compromised, the mission hasn’t. THE TEAM HAS WON THIS TIME after finding all of the information they needed.

( Here are the OOC details of it all… The characters are now being split up across the world. They have taken up fake identities and will need to interact only through phone, text, Skype, etc. conversations. Otherwise, they are now taking up completely other lives in-game for three months, out of game until next Wednesday. Each character has been assigned to a random place, and they must write a task that involves the identity they have while they’re there and what it’s like being there. This can be done creatively, per usual. If you have any questions feel free to ask! And, most of all, have fun. )

RESULTS     

Well, all votes are in and here’s what’s new with Reato...

66.7% voted not to release the newest information that was received during the event. 

83.3% said they would be able to participate in another event over this week!

Mostly, the feedback that events should continue to happen after 7pm EST.

50% voted to release a new task for this week upcoming week!

Now that we know Reato will not be releasing the information they found, however they will have the chance to gain more information. Here’s the chance they’re going to get: a family party. Good news, there will be less guards than the previous gala. Only close friends and relatives have been invited. Bad news, Reato has already been seen in Valentine’s household. It is impertinent that they keep their identities sealed. This time, it’ll involve a bit less of waltzing into the mansion and more stealth throughout the home. Please like this if you would be able to participate in an event on February 3rd, 2018. More information is yet to come, as well as a new task.

This is a recap of the miniature event that happened on the night of February 3rd, 2018. It was set at a lightly guarded family party for the Valentine’s. Romeo was invited formally and spent his time drinking mocktails by the pool, while the rest of the Reato crew infiltrated the party for new information. TL;DR: Reato found files showing millions of dollars going into Valentine’s account as well access to said account.

The crew had to make their way into the party and Katia knocked out one guard with a tray as the rest of the crew made their way in.

Katia did a quick check of the bathroom but found that it was a bust, and decided to help Romeo gather information from the kitchen.

Scarlett and Cole made their way into the guest office where there were projections for Valentine’s bank account.

In the kitchen there was a laptop which showed off the phony projects that V&D has been claiming as humanitarian works. There was also a tab with access to his bank account open, so Reato now has access to Valentine’s money.

Back in the office, Cole and Scarlett didn’t pass their chance of being caught. A guard found Cole and was able to recognize his face. Scarlett and Cole had to make a quick escape after knocking the guard out.

All of the crew made it back to the van hastily, but a fight broke out between Cole and Ferris.

This led to tension between the whole crew.

So, now what happens? Will the crew manage to put aside their differences to finish off this mission? Let’s just say, Valentine is not happy with the last party. He has more information than you think, this could affect any one of the members of Reato - especially Cole and Scarlett who were seen. Be careful what move you make next because the whole team will be affected.

It was one hell of a heist, give yourselves a nice, grand pat on the backs. Here’s a quick recap of what went down. TLDR; several new files and even a vile of the superflu valentine plans to release was found.

Cole entered the party, Dakota was meant to be his plus one, but helped Ferris back at the HQ van.

Romeo and Scarlett helped to distract the guests and guards of the ballroom while Cole made his way to the main office to grab information from Valentine’s computer.

WHAT WAS FOUND?: A file containing the ingredients to a new superflu - not a flu vaccine, information from Valentine’s computer which showed him adding a hefty sum of money straight from V&D into his own bank account.

This action successfully passed.

Cole made his way back to the bar to watch the guards near the stairs. He needed to keep track of them while Scarlett and Ro made a frisky show of things to get into Valentine’s bedroom.

WHAT WAS FOUND?: A rifle, and a file of pharmacies nearest to the poorest neighborhoods in the country.

Another successful escape, that went smoothly.

Ro discovered his mother’s car was parked at the estate, after Gemma warned him. He made a quick escape to meet Gemma in an Audi that the gang would use to leave as fast as they possibly could.

Ferris entered the party just as Ro was leaving, and gained access to the library while Scarlett and Cole made a huge scene.

WHAT WAS FOUND?: A vile containing the deadly superflu that will be distributed across the globe.

Scarlett and Cole began to make a huger mess of things while Ferris made his escape to the car.

They resolved this by engaging in a passionate kiss. This forced the approaching guards to back off the two of them. They made it safely back to the car.

Now, what will our dastardly heroes do? There’s a choice to make... Release the information they have now to the public or wait for a second chance in exploring the Valentine mansion to get more information. It’s yours to make check the Discord #Announcements server for new survey questions.

OPENING DAY!

Our heroes begin their story in an unlikely setting - a broken down, beat up warehouse. It’s not much, with its concrete walls and poor insulation, but it could be a fixer-upper. Enough space for the magnificent eight to fit in their equipment and a place to crash. Some may have met already, some may have just seen the other’s names in a cryptic paper trail. Whatever the circumstances, the eight are almost a complete family (though not one full of love and trust just yet). They grow restless waiting for their next big heist. A project that might take months.

It’s January in the city of sin, which means highs in the sixties and lows in the forties. Though, corporate companies sweat as if it’s a sweltering Nevada summer at hearing the words “Robin Hood vigilantes” in the news. When will they strike next, and more importantly, who will they strike next? They’ve made a few hits exposing smaller corporations to the public; leaking their dirty secrets through their print page, they’ve even rerouted checks meant for embezzlement back into charity (you know, those CEOs should really thank Reato for making them look so generous).

But, the company that should really be afraid is Valitus & Divitis Laboratories Incorporated. Their CEO, Dermot Valentine, started the company in the late eighties. All it had been was a small research lab that suddenly became the next Johnson & Johnson. Their current project is a flu vaccine. One that’s cheaper, will target more than the typical one or two strains, and that will be donated to pharmacies in underprivileged areas for free. Why go to your local grocery store and get a flu shot for twenty dollars, when you could be protected for free?

Reato senses something fishy, and it’s time to begin their hit on the group. Let the games begin. Remember the motto, we steal from the rich to give back to the underprivileged.

What goes around comes around; Carter Alucard is about to get a taste of this ideology. 

With Atticus’ skills sneaking into someone else’s electronic footprint, some dirty laundry of Mr. Alucard has come to light. What, you may be asking? A host of texts between himself and a few of his young, beautiful mistresses. Now, I’ll spare you the details of what they said, but let’s all trust that Mr. Alucard is not as clean as he seems, and it’s time the world learns of that. But, perhaps Reato should get more information before they open the curtain that will expose these dirty affairs. Of course his wife and the world finding out about the affair is one thing, but for the world to find out about his dirty business dealings is a whole other experience. So, let’s pry into the girls he’s been fooling around with a bit more.

Reato has received a mass email from Atticus with all of his findings. But, that can’t tell us everything about the private life of Mr. Alucard. Destroying his secretive, scandalous relationships might just give us the leverage we need to enter into his personal life.

Under the guise of a modelling contract interview (Mr. Alucard has a type, mind you), Reato will be conducting a bit of an interview into each of the girls personal lives. Now, the girls themselves will be protected, but the there’s no promise that the secrets of Mr. Alucard are safe. 

We’ll gain information by interviewing each of the girls in a location separate from the warehouse; not everyone can be invited to such a premiere spot. So, get ready to act like the next big thing because we’ll need the girl’s trust before we get anything. So, are you in? Destroying the Atlas Company is the next to-do on our agenda.

( Here are the OOC details of it all… Oh my gosh, I’m so excited to start this new plot drop off! So, I will post a poll in the Discord #Announcements server. This will let you choose the date for the next event which will be the actual interviews. The messages that the crew knows of are mostly flirting messages between Carter Alucard and several women. Only three of them, the most loyal of his affairs, have been invited. There is an associated task due by March 19th, which is just to make a playlist for your character of their hype songs! If you have any questions feel free to ask! And, most of all, have fun. )

Get the hugs, the champagne, and the tears over with. You’re back in Vegas, baby. The lights are brighter than ever and the arid dry-heat is already drying out your nose. Vacation time is over with, and the warehouse now has all familiar occupants inside. Home sweet home, or more like warehouse sweet warehouse. The rats are still crawling around and, gosh, it feels like the cobwebs haven’t changed a bit. You might want to get your space cleaned up a bit, you haven’t been back in a few months, right?

Well done, team. It’s been a hectic attempt at bringing down Valitus & Divitis Labs, but here we are. The news is flooded with stories of the vigilantes that took them down, and while they aren’t out of the picture yet - they’re feeling the heat. Dermot Valentine has even taken the liberty of stepping down from his position as the head of the company. The “vaccine” did not hit the shelves nor did it risk the lives of thousands as it could have. Boycotts, protests, the whole hundred yards. Now, it’s time for your next biggest target... The Atlas Company.

You may be questioning who that is, well meet the team’s newest hit. They’re the company that runs every other company out there, including Valitus & Divitis. Atlas released a statement, “We no longer wish to be associated with the subsidiary company Valitus & Divitis. All genetics research projects and labs will be ending in the near future due to their gross negligence for the public.” You don’t believe a word that the CEO Carter Alucard says. He looks horribly smug and tastefully dressed. If there’s anyone who’d make a great villain, it’s the shiny bald-headed, sharp-tongued, suit-wearing CEO. Alucard has been embezzling money from the company for years. Using it to increase the size of his mansions, the penthouses he keeps his mistresses in, and his private building endeavors that are replacing poorer neighborhoods housing. It’s time that he learns his lesson, Reato is going to teach him what it feels like to have nothing. You all look towards one another trying to find a plan, but before you can do that it’s time to look back on what went right and wrong in the previous mission.

( Here are the OOC details of it all… This plot drop sets us up for our next storyline. Now the group is back together, there is room for lots of tension and also growth. All threads from the previous plot drop should be over by February 27th. As for a task, this is not required, your character can choose to reflect on the events of the Valitus & Divitis take down or just the first storyline in general. What were their ups and downs, what did you discover about their personalities, all that. This could be in the form of a self para or otherwise. It’s just a way to kinda wrap up that side of things, but there will be more with them in the future. If you have any questions feel free to ask! And, most of all, have fun. )

THE RESULTS     

You’ve had your discussions, you’ve all added your thoughts into the pool of information. But, the majority ruled to check the company’s most recent company files. 

This yielded a tiny bit of information, information that you won’t be able to leak just yet. Dakota hacks away at their computer, everyone else takes turns reading over the information that they’ve gotten, and Silas watches over the operation. The group has made the risky choice, and by a flip of a coin, your efforts of hacking have been discovered. But, not all is lost, you still have learned a bit more about the motives of Valitus & Divitis, and what exactly they’re trying to accomplish.

The information you have received goes as follows:

There are no ingredients listed as a influenza vaccine, in fact the last time Valitus & Divitis released any type of vaccine was in the mid-2000s. Their most recently filed product is a cure in its prototype stage, however it is not for any strain of influenza. It is a unique disease that none of Reato has heard of. You all look shocked. Though this is the maximum amount of information you have received, you all have a bad feeling. Why would they have a cure for a disease that hasn’t even shown up in the public, yet? What could this mysterious disease be, and why does Valitus & Divitis already know about it?

You will have the chance to discover these bits of information at a gala that Dermot Valentine has invited his closest friends to. A celebration for his latest humanitarian efforts and the release of the new vaccine. You’ve got an invitation and a plus one, all thanks to your insider source. Be prepared to be dressed to the nines because all of Reato will have a play in getting more information. Your efforts to bring down this malicious corporation are far from over.

Back at Valitus & Divitis labs, an underpaid, overworked CTO looks at their screen. A breach in security, someone unknown is accessing the files that Valitus & Divitis has put on lock down. All it takes is one email to Valentine and a quick reset of their security measures before the entirety of the company is aware of a hacker. 

Valentine is scared of a mole in his company, but terrified that his plans will be foiled. He keeps a calm facade, walking through the office like the heartless, steely boss he usually is. Once he reaches his office, he pounds his fists on the desk, his face red and angered.

Valentine is now aware of someone coming after him. He’s searching for moles.

VOTES -

Three out of five opted to search company files, this was the risky choice (a 50/50 chance of being caught) and harbored less information than expected.

Three out of five also opted to leak the information, however the amount of information is not enough to leak.

All five said yes to an event on the week of the fifteenth through twenty-first.

REWARDS -

You have discovered that the “flu cure” is most likely a guise for some other project.

No ingredients have been found for a flu cure.

You now have access to the company files of Valitus & Divitis.

CONSEQUENCES -

Valentine has discovered a breach in the system, this could directly affect the Inside Man, the Gadget Guy, or the Mastermind.

You have only received basic information, nothing game changing.

Reato already is at risk of having their operation found out, be careful.

The emails did harbor leverage to use against Valentine and the company.
