TODAY. may 14th. a day like any other, REALLY. but it also meant MOTHER’S DAY. a day like any other, really. when he had gone over to his family home he had watched his sister, chima, hand sayanna a wrapped gift. he ; on the other hand, only gave their mother a flower and a card ; things he bought one day ago. ( FROM YOUR FAVOURITE CHILD ; JUST KIDDING IT’S FROM ME ). on days like these he felt like a soldier whose leg had been taken by a landmine after he was promised there would be no more landmines. this is where he drew a line. a day like any other, really. ( I HAVE NO SON. ) words spoken years ago. years ago when he hadn’t even finished his junior year. nowdays, he was working. his own person. aware he fucked up. aware he neglected his duties as loyal son. yes he was aware and yet his mother’s words had cut sharp all these years ago.
fact was ; as soon as he had gone through school he left like a deadbeat dad who popped out for some cigarettes and never returned. something like that should not linger like a tragedy in slow-motion. he should have accepted his mistake. his mother should have forgiven him. ( FORGIVENESS ; IF FORGIVENESS IS NOT POSSIBLE, REMEMBER EVERYTHING YOU ALWAYS WANTED TO BE FORGIVEN FOR BUT WEREN’T. IF YOU ARE WAITING FOR FORGIVENESS ; BE PREPARED TO WAIT. BE PREPARED TO STAND ON THE PATH OF TIME AND WITHER. RESPECT THAT FORGIVENESS IS DIFFICULT. NOT ALL TRESPASSERS ARE EQUAL AND NOT EVERYONE CAN HEAL ACCORDING TO YOUR SCHEDULE. ). a day like any other, really. what was he complaining about ? everything was working out in his favor. friends, work, love-life. everything worked out. it always did. his sister still kept close contact to him ; kept him up-to-date with how their mother was doing.
