So far - I have only really started - the authors treat everybody with compassion, offering great characterizations and a rollercoaster of emotions, but the greatest joy is actually in seeing how the setting affects the events and relations and the pure cleverness that went into crafting this ‘verse.

Familiarity with the source has never been a big issue for me when it comes to fic. I’ll often find something I end up loving by diving into a plot tag, or, as in this case, having it recommended to me.
To my mind, it’s the mark of a good well-written story if you can pull me in when I’ve no idea about canon. I’ve never seen more than 5 minutes of Spartacus, but I absolutely fell in love with Nasir & Agron after my dear @captainbigdickmoxley sent this delight my way. Hopefully someone else might enjoy the same gift!

I love this trope just as much as fake dating, and this fic is a most excellent example. Completely oblivious and distressed Reki & teasing, but actually just as daft Langa are written in such an adorable way here - so sweet & just perfect for each other!
