Louisiana Plans on route to Offer Additional Tax Credits
Since 1986, the federal government has used low-income housing tax credits (LIHTC) to deviately subsidize the development of affordable housing. The credits are allocated in order to state and chair car governments, and subsequently awarded to low-income housing developers. The overexpenditure credits are in the aftermath sold to investors, and developers profit the six-figure income toward fund their projects. Applications with additional funding were due to the Louisiana Cabinet Finance Agency late go by summer.
