I have finished out my Diptyque candle, much to my dismay. I've washed it out and use it now as a makeup brush holder. However, the end of one candle means the beginning of another.
I didn't do a whole lot of shopping around. Tumblr makes it easy to find new things to try. Recendo is a brand made in Brooklyn. Their candles are soy based with a cotton wick. This is important--some of the cheaper, commercial candles can have lead in their wicks.
Each Roman numeral symbolizes a 'scent journey'. I chose 10--the top layer of the candle is Raspberry (burning now, it's nice and subtle). The middle, or 'heart' is cannabis scented, and the bottom is leather.
The candles are really reasonably priced for the kind of product you're getting.
There was a snafu with the delivery--if you dwell in NYC they have a courier service. Really cool concept on the surface, however for busy New Yorkers this can be a bit difficult. I think they're supposed to communicate a window of time that the courier will be swinging by. Anyways, after a miscommunication I missed my candle. Customer care was great. They responded super promptly and resent a new candle out. They even tossed in a scent sampler.
So far, great! The packaging is absolutely beautiful--I can't wait to use the tin for something. And the candle burns really well, filling my room with a subtle scent. I can't wait to dive into the later layers of my scent journey.
Recendo ships free everywhere in the U.S. You can find their candles here.
