Butterbeer: Awesome Stuff!!!
In the spirit of the finale, I decided it was time to make butterbeer for the first time! I was looking for a cheap recipe. I'm talking CHEAP. Not this you-need-1.25-million-ingredients-to-make-this stuff. The first recipe I found was the one for me. Can you say "magic?"
1 quart vanilla or butter brickle (do they sell that in the US? I've never heard of it...) ice cream
1/4 cup butterscotch syrup
BINGO!!! So, it cost about 10 bucks to get the stuff. My price range! :D When I got home, I sat out the stuff. You know what? When it said to "combine the ingredients and blend it in your blender," I think it called for a blender the size of Texas. Just saying.
So, I modified it a bit. I used about 4 scoops of ice cream, 3 squirts of butterscotch, and 1/4 can of cream soda. I know the measurements are not exactly, with lack of a better word, "exact," but keep in mind that this is about the consistency of a shake in the end. It was brilliant. I'm thinking maybe next time I should use some nutmeg and cinnamon, if not simply for a garnish!
Long story short, I want to perfect this. Even if I do have to open up my own Butterbeer stand in order to get rid of all the failures! I'm sure I could find some customers on a hot summer's day! :)
