Whatever algorithm steam has suggesting games is really interesting. It's not *wrong* but I really don't follow the logic here

The search function on Tumblr is becoming more ruined. Searches by “recent” are starting to omit posts that aren’t being omitted in “Top”. It’s getting harder to find posts in “Recent” that I know for a fact are in there. I’ve objectively confirmed that at times Top will have two posts when Recent has only one of the two I just saw, usually when I search a more specific term than is common. And other larger-scale variations of those numbers.
Tumblr is to some non-zero degree using an arbitrary decisions algorithm to choose what we see.
Youtube keeps trying to sell me meat ad im concerned...
"Five stars feels very yesterday now, [that old system] really projects what you think you want to tell the world. But we want to move to a system where it’s really clear, when members rate, that it’s for them, and to keep on making the Netflix experience better and better. [..] perhaps we’re so terrified of being judged for our opinions that we present fake opinions to the rating-crunching robots at Netflix because we just need the approval of someone."
