I yap alot. God his life is so tragic. Average turning 13 experience and I now just realised that all we really know of Tim's life is his teenage years and they're mostly shit. Isn't that something.
So you made Oracle Tim get shot? I had in mind the reason he was incapacitated was because of the aftereffects of Joker Jr. from Batman Beyond. Tim had been electrocuted multiple times over the course of three weeks, so he was left with chronic pain and DID. (Cabe aclarar que las persona con esta enfermedad mental pueden vivir una vida normal.)
Here I have drawings of Oracle Tim. I named him Heimdall, the all-seeing Norse god. He has scars from cuts on his surgically removed cheeks, but he was never able to completely remove them.
And I based Heimdall's logo on JARVIS and FRIDAY.
I was inspired by a fanart by Dickbabs dhsabdjasd
I am aware of the Joker Junior plot, but no, it’s not what I went with. I was actually inspired by Tim’s fake injury from his original Red Robin run.
For my Tim, it isn’t a ruse. After a personal mission lead to him being entangled with the League of Assassins, Tim’s exit from the League left Ra’s both impressed at his gumption & offended at his arrogance. The family will take years to get confirmation, but the order was not “shoot to kill” but specifically to injure Tim to the point he’d need a Lazarus Pit to go back to the life he’d had before. Ra’s wanted to break Tim’s pride and have Tim come crawling back to the League, but Tim’s stubbornness combined with his denial at the permanence of the injury lead to Tim doubling down on recovering. Even once Tim did accept that he’d need mobility aids for the rest of his life, Tim sure as hell wasn’t giving Ra’s the pleasure of having Tim need him to go back to heroing.
Part of me does feel like I should rename the role, but I don’t have a lot of ideas for it. For now, I’m sticking with Oracle; “I see what you don’t, and if you ignore my advice we both know what happens won’t be pretty.”
(Also, for angst purposes, Tim was still shot when he was about to give a speech. Duke & Cass were both in attendance, but Duke was at the other end of the room and turned away—his future sight alerted him to the fleeing crowd rather than the source, and he turned in time to see the future-echo of Tim hitting ground but not in time to stop it—and Cass was closer but only had Duke’s reaction as warning herself.)
being murdered in cassandra cains batgirl suit was a terrible way for her character to go. lynx should have been murdered by king snake, gang violence, or literally anything else that would have made sense. but dying under someone elses mantel with little regard to her? slap in the face.
what makes it worse is that she's replaced by lynx II. they don't even hide that they're replacing her with a more palatable lynx because the new one may or may not be law enforcement and is age appropriate for tim to make out with. fuck you.
how do some people like how fabian nicieza writes tim drake??
god, i wish post war games tim could meet red robin 09 tim. they have such an extreme difference in mindset, and it would be so cool
i enjoy how tims experience with the press ranges from everyone hating on young justice (albeit robin is a myth and nothing is directed towards him specifically) to jack campaigning to get him out of NML to literally faking an injury that requires him need crutches for a year
