She was red.
Ezio regularly saw her, as he watched from afar, hidden from sight. She talked to David, spent time with him… Seemingly nice and harmless. But she was bright red, unmistakable, and it worried Ezio more than a little to see David so easily charmed by a potential enemy..
He hadn’t said anything to his roommate about her color in his other sight. He only saw two possible reasons why his friend remained so blissfully unaffected. Either he chose not to acknowledge her status as a threat (maybe he didn’t see it, the fool seemed madly in love), or he didn’t even use his gift. In which case, with this level of foolishness, there was nothing Ezio could do. It would have been a lost cause in his book.
Whatever the reason was, Ezio decided to take matters into his own hands before she decided she was through with playing friends with Desmond. No matter what his opinion of the man was, Ezio had become attached to David King, and he wasn’t about to watch things unfold without acting.
That’s how one night he found himself under the rain, at the bottom of an unassuming apartment building, his hood low on his eyes and his hidden blades firmly equipped.
He had studied his target, studied her habits and routines, and followed her on her way home more than once, blended with the crowd. He was confident he could reach her floor without problem, even with the unfamiliar architecture, and that he could do what was to be done.
He didn’t plan on killing her… Unless she gave him a reason. But he didn’t plan to go easy on her either.
With a deep breath, he approached a secluded side of the building and started climbing, forcing a window the way he’d learnt from the internet especially for this occasion, and slipping inside with barely a *thud*.
He waited in a crouch a moment, immobile save for a few droplets of water dripping to the floor, listening. He didn’t want to underestimate her, and he truly preferred to be prudent, just in case she was aware of him stalking her.
When he heard nothing, he got up and started navigating the apartment in the dark, his steps light and measured, his blades ready to be deployed at any sign of a threat.
