It's interesting that the one dutch movie about Radbod of Frisia tries to portray the frisians as native Dutchmen and the franks as foreigners by making the frisian characters speak dutch and the Frankish (and Danish) characters speak English. But the reality is essentially the opposite: the modern dutch language is Low Franconian, meaning it is descended from the language of the Franks; and Frisian was a sister language to Old English, and modern frisian languages are still the closest relatives to the anglic languages.
