#thanks hermits for reminding me about the glass fog effect #it's so much work but it looks so good #and yes this house is fully habitable -- this was my starter base this season #it's got storage in the basement (which is in the roof bit so technically the attic)#and a garden on the foundation #and the middle bit is a cute little cottage with all the basics #but the chasm beneath has just been empty space for a long time #and i got inspired by gem's use of the glass fog in the nether #that and adding the spruce trees around i think makes it just off-kilter enough to be both cozy and slightly unsettling #exactly the vibe I was going for XD #redwinterbuilds #edge smp

My entry for the 3rd week of Challenge Mode on the ISV (Impulse's patreon survival server): we were challenged to build a monument to a hermit of our choice, and I went with Rendog -- specifically Red King Ren. (Who's surprised... XD)

This is loosely based on this 3D model of Ren created by @3rdlives, which is gorgeous and I didn't nearly do justice to.

Favorite elements include: the tail (which you can hardly see, tucked under his cloak), the Red Winter axe and Martyn's banner, and combining the Renchanting table with the Black Heart altar.

Oh and also the crown. Love how that crown turned out. :D

There's currently a challenge game running on the ISV server, and this week's challenge is to build a secret base *inside* another (assigned) player's base.

I didn't start out going for a "1970s basement" vibe, but I LOVE how it looks, and it's pretty well hidden so I have hopes that it'll remain undetected long enough to earn me some decent points. XD
