New Mount Acquired: The Griffon

Managed to unlock this mount earlier today after taking the story a little slowly and just... I don’t think I could be happier with a mount. 

Not only is it amazing design-wise, but so much fun to maneuver and super versatile - I find myself able to climb cliffs I would normally require a springer for, able to cross leaps for raptors, fly over quicksand, and much more.

It feels like a very serious end-game mount, and a reward one at that after all the gold and work required for it.

I’m super happy with it, and can’t wait to introduce one within some of my own character’s IC stories !

Seriously though, so impresed with this map and all the achievements in it, I’m on a total binge completing them without help and just... ughhhhh I love it.

Gimme Rock Star title please ANET, then next up please Geologist just UGH yes.

I could nerd about this map all night and day, someone please stop my geology brain from freaking out over everything.

Fasion Wars Day Four : Reed Swiftstrider ( Ele Alt )

So . . . yep, I have an alternate version of my main, Reed Swiftstrider, purely for the light armour charr cultural aesthetic. Whoops.

I love the ash feel of this armour set, and it was one of the driving things to push me towards making an alt of her - that and at the time she was creating the Legendary Staff ‘Nevermore’ ICly and the animation and use of it on Druid for PvE was . . . slightly lack-lustre.

So yes, I’m going to count this as different from last years’ Reed Swiftstrider entries ( one | two ) because different armour. It counts.

how to PvP with friends :

step one : play already similar charr

gaah I love her accent

Fun fact : 

Reed doesn’t actually have an accent, but is a very lazy speaker when it comes to general chatter and so cuts out a lot of syllables and sections of words to make it easier. If she’s in a formal situation or has to speak to someone higher up she can speak clearly and break away from the lazy habit almost instantly.

If she’s happy or content though, she’ll usually keep her strange way of speaking, so it’s fairly easy to tell when she’s nervous or on edge by using her clearing words as a marker !

Reed - How's Ash Legion treatin ya? What do ya think of the other Legions?

The large charr brought a digit up toward her jawline, running the sharp point of a claw through the dense fur of her cheek, leaving a slight furrow in its path. “I mean… ‘s pretty much th’same as it always is,” a low huff escaped her before she pressed on, “Y’say that as if I had a choice in my legion.” 

 “That being said…” she trailed off somewhat, her head cocked to the side, “Wouldn’ change it f’r th’world.” A faint, yet prideful grin split across the sides of her maw, flashing the slightest sliver of sharp teeth to her companion. 

 “I’ve tried workin’ with Iron ‘fore, ’s not really my things t’say the least,” her tone shifted into a more serious rumble as she mulled over her words, “What they make up f’r with their skills in mechanics an’ machinery, they lack in subtlety. If’n y’want a group o’bolt-brains t’let e’ry’un in th’area know where y’are then sure, hire them an’ their machines.” 

 “If’n y’want th’same result but… y’know, with more casualties an’ more…” The rounded tip of her tongue pressed out between pointed front teeth as Reed attempted to curb her insults, “Well, more e’rythin’ an’ less brains,” so much for that, “Then I s’pose y’could always call on Blood. They get th’job done but blast if’n they don’t make a burnin’ mess o’ it an’ themselves in th’end.” 

 Were she able to, Reed would have rolled her eyes at that - she didn’t need to be able to see to know just how easily Blood wrought havoc on their enemies; she could feel it underfoot and smell it in the air after every battle. Her posture shifted once again to sit upright, the earlier cocky grin quickly settling back into place as she continued, “If y’want th’job done right an’ proper, then look f’r Ash - simple as that.”
