Apologies for the lack of photos – the cold and craziness of adjusting to life post vacation has kept me from spending as much time on it as I’d like. Sewing hasn’t been as much a priority for me lately, but I really couldn’t wait to re-do this dress. A few nips and tucks made for a very different (and much updated) look..

Refash 34: Cosy plane ride
Today's the big day, the holiday is here! Our flight leaves Gatwick at 3pm, so we have been advised to arrive at the airport between 12-1pm. Which is no big deal for us, as luckily both sets of parents live about an hour from the airport. No early morning wake ups for us!!
I needed something cosy and comfy for the flight, but not too hot as we would be landing in 30 degree heat the other end. A month back, I threw this lightweight jumper into a dye bath with some other clothes.
It did have a few problems though...
Holey moley!
Once dyed and dried, I needed to hide that hole. I thought about sewing it up, but I realised that because of the thin fabric, the stitches would be really obvious. Instead, I thought of many ways to cover the hole, so all problems would be hidden away!
I took that bottom scrap from my anniversary refash and played around with ways to position it.
I thought about a sash...
And then thought maybe pockets?
How about a sweet little flower corsage type design to cover that little hole?
In the end I decided to go for something else...
Once completed, I through on my new jumper with some comfy trousers, and headed off to the airport!
It was a fabulous choice for the plane journey!
Sorry the photo isn't clearer, I was in such a hurry that photos of the final refashion were the last thing on my mind!
It was a good idea having those shorter sleeves for the other end!
Wooooo sunny!
I have lots of holiday photos, with some refashions, which I shall gradually put up before Christmas. But if you just can't wait that long, I have thrown all my photos from our trip to Crete here for you all to view!! Enjoy!
Refash 33: That's a wrap!
I want to start this post of by, firstly, apologising for my lack of contact and posts lately. After my holiday snaps, I have been slowly getting back into normal life. A promotion at work, my graduation, and many other things have all been factors in my refashioning quietness, but I promise that I shall keep refashioning when I can and give you so so many ideas for your refashions too!
Right, now the formalities are over, let the refashioning commence!
As you guys know, I have been eyeing up this blanket wrap from New Look for some time, as mentioned previously here.
Just so so lovely!
However, I can't quite justify spending over £25 on, what is essentially, a blanket.
Never fear!
I decided on a simple no-sew refashion for my evening with friends.
I took my trusty Zara scarf from two years ago (of which I have two, yes I love them) as I love the material on this.
(I'm in my living room by the way, as my room was a little bit messy...)
It's also a LOT of material. I think it could also double as a picnic blanket...
Anyway, I folded this across diagonally so I ended up with a nice triangular shaped piece of cloth. I didn't quite match up the corners, as I wanted the 'two layer' effect, so I layered one part slightly shorter.
I wrapped it around my shoulders with the shorter layer on the outside, and cinched it with a belt to hold it in place.
I actually didn't get a final photo of this refashion (silly me - I was just too excited to go out) but I do have a selection of photos below from the night! It sort of looked like this but with a belt...
Perfection! A very simple blanket wrap from a beloved scarf. And I can wear this again and again as either, because it was a no-sew. It could be done with blankets, throws, scarves, even bed sheets, if you're into that thing.
I wore my new wrap out for dinner and Arcade Games with 'The KANG Gang' - Kyle, Amanda, Nicola and Gavin. We are oh so imaginative.
Kyle and Amanda...
... and Nicola and Gavin!
I won a dinosaur! Hello George!
I really really REALLY like this refashion!
And, as always, if you attempt a similar refashion, I would l-o-v-e to see the photos, so please message me, comment below, or send me an email on the 'contact' page, and if I love it too, I may just post it to my blog - so remember to include your blog details too!
Peace out!
