Reflekdoll review:
So I liked this episode a lot more than I thought I would! There was a lot of girl group moments, and I liked how Nino and Adrien tagged along! Seeing the girls notice how each other was feeling and try to help was really refreshing to see.
I like how they addressed that Chat Noir can get in the way, and how he needs to help out because Ladybug needs help and he keeps distracting her. I know that this was probably a one episode thing though, which is a little disappointing
Seeing Marinette as Lady Noir was a lot of fun! It was honestly the most fun I’ve had watching them in a while. Letting her enjoy herself while fighting and teaching Adrien for a change was so therapeutic. I didn’t like her slit eyes though, and it was hard to watch her because of that lol. They just really creeped me out. Also her hair looks so pretty black? I don’t know why on earth they made it blue, I mean I totally know why they did it, but it does look a lot better being black. I wish that they made hr natural hair black, and then her ladybug hair blue, that would have been a better way to do it I think. Also can you imagine how confused Chat Noir must be by her hair now? Like first she has short hair, and then suddenly it’s dragging on the floor. His search for Ladybug just got a lot harder because now she could literally have any length of hair.
I feel like Juleka getting akumatised was pretty weak. I get that she was sad, and disappointed, but she went from just feeling down to willing to work with terrorists. It just felt less strong than it did the first time she was akumatised, which is a problem I’m finding with a lot of repeat villains (except for Queen Bee)
Overall though, I did like this episode a lot! The animation was really good in this episode, and honestly most of my problems are just little nitpicks, but they didn’t stop me from enjoying the episode.
