My Kingdom For A Wraith (closed)
It wasn’t working. She didn’t need to hear Regina shouting the same to know that much. Or to know that if they didn’t get Jefferson’s hat working soon, the wraith would suck Regina dry… and probably finish off David, Mary Margaret, and her for dessert.
Assuming the fire her parents — that would never get normal — had intentionally set to keep the gruesome, floating spectre at bay didn’t burn the whole damn building down around their ears with them still in it.
Screw that. They needed to move; find somewhere to regroup and come up with a plan that worked or figure out why this one hadn’t. Emma turned to grab Regina by the arm, sure that she’d need to physically drag the other woman away…
…And it worked.
The stupid hat actually worked. A wall of swirling purple smoke surrounded her and Regina as the hat… changed; growing in size as it flattened out into a vortex with a wide tattered felt rim that they both had to back-pedal to avoid.
That — magic — would never get normal either.
A shout from David pulled her focus from the hat or portal or whatever the hell it was now and she turned around just in time to see the wraith dive across the barrier, the wall of flame that had been holding it back apparently blown out by the wind stirred up by the Portal/hat thing-y.
Instinct kicked in. “Regina.” Emma threw herself at the other woman, wrapping her arms around the brunette’s waist as she shoved them both out of the way, the animal cry of the wraith being dragged back to whatever hell hole back in the Enchanted Forest that it had escaped from sounding the all clear.
It worked. They were safe.
Or not. No sooner had the smile started to form on her lips then Emma felt something wrap around her ankle. Something electric. Something strong. Something angry. Something pulling her in.
Another shout left her lips. Wordless. Fearful. But not so fearful that Emma didn’t let go of Regina. At least she tried to. Whatever had grabbed her was quick. Too quick to undo the instinct to tighten her grip — a grip still around Regina’s waist — when she first felt herself yanked back.
Her last thought as they both tipped over the edge and fell into the formless darkness was that if they survived, Regina would never let her hear the end of this.
And then there was nothing.
My sincerest apologies ahead of time for the skype notifications in the background (that would be Jae, I don’t apologize at all really).
ALSO note that it’s been a couple of months since I played...and the F chord is still a PAIN.

Headcanon #132: On Regina Mills - Part One:
At this point, the only person Jessica has not lost in Timeline-Canon in some form or other (whether by death, leaving, or various other complicated means) is Regina Mills.
And she keeps telling me that she’s going to leave her, too.
Because she feels like she’s causing Henry to see Roger and she’s afraid he’s going to end up the way she did with Dana and she doesn’t want to cause that with anybody, let alone Henry, let alone with Regina’s son.
The thing is - Henry seeing Roger - it’s worse because his Roger is a delusion - or it might be his essence, which means she could try to bring Roger back again, to capture that and have him redrawn. But it wouldn’t be him. He’d be back, but she’d still be lost.
Regardless of that, she can see the heart eyes that Emma has for Regina and she feels like...like she’s in the way.
So on the one hand there’s this “I’m being a bad influence on your son” and on the other hand there’s this “but also I’m keeping you from possibly having this family” and she isn’t sure which exactly is the worst of the two.
BUT the further interesting thing is this - that the only person from At The Seams and As They Fall that Jessica does not contact is Regina. This is mainly because Regina should have been getting Henry at just the time she and Roger are transformed, but I think she’s lying when she tells herself that. I think it is also very much that she knows the cost, she knows what the cost of getting in contact again would be.
See - in previous “make my muse choose between x and y” Jessica has proven that she will choose Toon!Roger over any and every character with two exceptions - Charlotte (because she believes that is what Roger would want) and, in meta, Journey!Alana (simply because she believes this form of Alana needs her in a way that Roger doesn’t - which is debatable, but it is what she thinks). She will choose Roger over Regina and has done so in the past.
However.
Journey!Alana is not a trump card and I’m coming to learn that although she would choose Roger over Regina and Journey!Alana over Roger, she would also choose Regina over Journey!Alana.
This leads to a sort of circular hierarchy that I can’t quite explain.
Also, as opposed to her decision to leave Dana, if Jessica did leave Regina, it wouldn’t be for...selfish reasons. Whereas Jessica left Dana as a choice of Roger (who was dying - a choice that she regrets and regrets regretting, if that makes sense?), if she left Regina, it would be because she felt that staying hurt her - which, it should be noted, is not a decision she would make with...any other character, I think (which may be why Regina would trump Journey!Alana).
"We're alone now, you could kiss me."
Send my muse “We’re alone now, you could kiss me” for their reaction.
TC!Jessica Edition:She closes her eyes and her head aches and it is possible that, for once in her life, Jessica Rabbit has had too much to drink (it is because she didn’t spike her champagne with bleach and so temper her drinking that way). It was New Year’s Eve and now it is New Year’s and somehow she is somewhere with Alana Bloom - near the bar she once lived above but not there, somewhere much classier. There’d been a party. Neither of them had anything else to do (Doctor Bloom perhaps feeling a little isolationist and Jessica giving her employer space to spend the evening with her son - Regina had insisted, but Jessica...didn’t want to intrude, not just yet, even if it no longer hurt to see the woman enveloped in the yellow she had not lost). She will be there in a few hours time - enough to sleep and make herself presentable. Jessica had promised Henry parades and Regina that time to cook together and it felt so domestic and so much like what she’d lost and.... There was an empty sort of ache to it all. (Roger would be in the background, she knows this, and hopefully he would stay with Henry, stay away from stolen kisses in the kitchen, but the possible laughter would draw him near, especially if--)Jessica pauses at the sound of Doctor Bloom’s words and there’s this flicker of something across her face because this is unexpected Doctor Bloom, what are you saying Doctor Bloom, why right now Doctor Bloom because she will be with Regina in a few hours and she cannot arrive smelling like her. She steels her face and turns and there is the little therapist with this wavering sort of expression and this, too, hurts her. She should never have gotten involved with Doctor Bloom. But it is New Year’s, and when the ball dropped there’d been a moment where their eyes met, but Jessica had not wanted to waste such a moment with her and she suspected that the other hadn’t wanted to waste it with her either, but now--Jessica is used to pain and she is used to betrayal and it tastes like Dip when she says, very firmly, “No.”
